STUBBLE!!!!!!!!! ;););););););););););)

This morning I schooled my little exmoor in a scrummy yummy stubble field, with convenient exmoor sized jumps in neat little lines. We had a lovely lovely morning, all before breakfast. LOVE this time of year!! :o

Being nice and sensible, doing our transitions etc

Realising that he was going to be allowed to jump! I know hes overbent but when hes excited (and its like a 20 acre field) head gets tucked in, he starts doing a bouncy ball impression..

everyone should have an exmoor!!:cool::cool::cool:

Thanks! :) he is 12 hands exactly. For ages I thought he was 12.1 or 12.2 but we measured him officially and he's smaller than we thought...he's also 12 hands wide ;)

You are soooo lucky ! he's also adorable, I miss riding little ponies, I've spread too much in my middle age so too heavy now :(

I tried to have some fun with my 15.2 TB/Welsh cob on sunday, sadly he thought going for a blast up the edge of the stubble field (bridlepath up one edge of them) was too much like hard work ! I think someone forgot to tell him he's 3/4 TB, he acts more like a cob, not that i'm really complaining.

I have a fab bridlepath right through three stubble fields its lovely this time of year but hate it in the spring as the farmer ploughs right up to the fence, leaving no room what so ever :( means the bridle path is relatively unsuable most of the year.

I love the early mornings at this time of year too, lovely photos, shows the lovely way the sun comes up through the mist - cant beat it !

Aww what a cutie! We've been doing the same, although the fields are too hard around here for a cheeky jump!

Bennions Field - I am guessing the farmer is ploughing it up to drill next years' crop (it's how we make a living ;) )

i totally appreciate he's trying to make a living, and know how hard it is to earn a living from farming, my grandparents were farmers, i just wish he would at least allow us just one foot of ground next to the fence, he literally ploughs within inches of the fence posts, aren't they meant to leave a small pathway as its an official bridleway.

If only i had bridlepaths/headlands like the ones above, oh heaven !

Lovely pics, your Exmoor is totally gorgeous! I've been on the 'i-want-an-Exmoor' band wagon lately! I had one as a child and she was amazeballs, such a cheeky character! :)

The bridleway has to be restored to at least 2 metres wide within 14 days from when the farmer began ploughing. Think the farmer is being a bit naughty.

Thank you! I love competing this pony but mornings like today make me realise why I ride :) I'm very very lucky to live on this beautiful farm..albeit not seeing my husband much at the moment!!! Even I have to ask him where I'm allowed to ride though...I knew the bales were going off today once the rest was baled up so I begged to be allowed to go and pop over thrm so while he walked the dogs I had a play, so much fun! RTE our fields are on a sandy loam type thing (argh i don't really know what I'm saying!!) so even after this drought, although its hard, it's soft if that makes sense!!!! Not that I'm properly jumping though ;) they were 1'6 at most! I asked OH to shove a couple together to start with as I thought he might run out at a single one, he placed them narrow end up....think he has more faith in the ponys jumping ability than me!!! :D

Was real stubble heaven :)
