Go on, whats the best bit of kit you have in your grooming bag?

It is a dog grooming blade but is adjustable so, unlike horse blades, you can have a small loop that is really easy to control and makes grooming your shedding horse a doddle. Have larger teeth on one side and smaller teeth on the other, the smaller teeth are ideal for doing legs and I even do my lads face, which he seems to enjoy.

More expensive than the horsey equivalent granted, but I wouldnt go back, truly are an amazing piece of kit (I've got two now I like them so much!)

What's your best item?

Brilliant price. Can't recommend it enough for deshedding winter coats. I have one for my dogs too :)

ETA Umm...the site is..interesting. Can't fault the price for a furminator, but their other, rather eclectic products.....

My Groomit (horse size one). Completely revolutionised the removal of winter coats. I thought £25 ish was ridiculous, until I removed an entire coat of winter fuzz and remained hair free myself. Best £25 I've ever spent on grooming kit!!!!!
 
A pack of cheap pound land Brillo pads (without the soap in them) - best thing ever to get dried mud off especially awkward places like face and legs and is much more gentle than a brush.

My cheap flick brush from decathlon is also excellent
 
Can't seem to find it anywhere but a massage brush! It has wobbly rubber bits that send Bud to sleep and is great at getting fur out! Had it about 12 years now though!
 
Solo comb - I can't tidy a mane any other way. Except I scissored my boy's mane off on Tuesday (been growing since October) and I can't find the darned solo comb! He looks ridiculous! I think I'll be buying a second one..!
 
I bought some magic brushes and can't understand what all the fuss is about, they just seem to get clogged up with hair really quickly. I like my cactus cloth and Oster body brush, as it put on a great shine.
 
I have a funny red rubber grooming mitt that I picked up somewhere random for like £1 but it's really great. It's a lot softer than a regular curry comb but does the same job. Can even use it on muddy legs as it's flexible. It's one of the only brushes that my sensitive, wimpy warmblood will tolerate without pulling faces!

Another vote for the magic brush, Nah they are fantastic things cost about 3 99 and they are just the best bit of kit you can get for the price. Great for removing mud,hair and general grooming, also for fluffing up sheepskin pads,suede boots and all sorts of stuff, can also get them in a 3 pack you really must try. Ned would love it x
 
My microfibre car mitt.

I bought it for a couple of quid in Home Bargains and it's brilliant - gets all the dust and muck out of the coat and will even shift light (dry) mud. Probably wouldn't be useful in winter but perfect for summer coats.

It brings Sham's coat up into a proper shiney shine, and doesn't remove essential oils. She was a bit wary of it at first (probably cos it's lime green) but loves it now.
 
I use the springy metal round curry comb, its fab on non sensitive areas to remove mud and hair from the hairy ones!!
 
Flick brush.

Horse lives out so I don't need a body brush. I just need something that will sweep mud dirt and dander out of the coat without removing the oils.

Flick brush works on long winter coats and short summer coats. It works on legs, and if I'm polite, it is even allowed to work on faces :D In fact, at a pinch, it also makes manes and tails look good.

I could probably do all my grooming with the flick brush, but because I'm a sucker for gadgets, I do also have an (unbranded) Furminator which is great for shedding, a rubber mitt with pimply bits for a bit of massage, a few pot scrubbers from the Pound Shop for shifting mud, and a microfiber mitt for making coat shiny. And a mane and tail brush :)

My other useful piece of kit is a hoofbrush with attached hoofpick... Not a hoofpick with a bit of brush, but actually a small dandy brush sized hoof brush with stiff bristles and a hoof pick on the end. Fab for getting hooves clean enough to put boots on :) It came from Spain and I've never seen one in the UK.

I do own a fancy goathair (I think?) body brush, but it is only used for applying fly repellent oils in summer :)
