If you could change ONE thing about each body what would it be?

Unfortunately cost cannot be something you would change as I think everyone would like this to change.

For me it would be a joint membership across all the disciplines as I would like to join BD but with fees of over £500 for BSJA and BE its just not going to happen.

They already give RC discount in all of them. Makes joining RC for £20 worth it.

It always think it would be really useful if BD could refine their competition schedules so for example, you could put in search criteria like just music classes or just classes in a certain region if you wanted to

BSJA to have a record system like BE that would be free and show all relevant info warts and all , the current system showing a horse has won £100 for eg doesnt tell me how often it has been out or that it had 4 refusals in the previous outings

For BD and BSJA to do half year membership from oct to march for people who event and dont use them through the summer!

Ditto! - However I think BE has really got its act together
I cannot vouch for BSJA.. BD are alittle slow at times and not too helpful on the phone in my experience

Can I change 2 things? Joint membership across all 3 bodies and some kind of accreditation process which not only ensures you are of a suitable standard, but also that you know basic points of etiquette for each discipline such as left to left, lateral work has priority, yell if you want a clear line to a practice fence etc etc!

Umbrella membership of all 3 bodies to be possible, as in the U.S.

BE - a "two-tier" system of novice events especially, a lower tier suitable for first timers, inexperienced riders, etc, the higher tier for horses with more experience etc etc. this would imho be invaluable, and could be applied to Intermediate and Advanced events too.
BSJA - cheaper entries for eventers who just want to school round the first round and don't want a rosette or qualification!
BD - something similar to above, and a ban on people warming up with their schooling whips sticking out at 90 degrees to whack my horse across the face with...

For BSJA to be like BE with regards to show dates and results - you should be able to see dates really easily (I currently have to click on about 15 different "area" or "centre"s individual links), and they never put normal show results out, you have to pay to see horses records (other than your own) and they take FOREVER to update my own records! BE results are out the SAME NIGHT as the event!

BE - Nothing really, their BDWP system is excellent although not all events do it this way, some still do it the paper way which is annoying. Maybe try to encourage more venues to run BE, for example Id love to try a CIC* but there's none in Scotland. Theres just two CCI*s which are crazy cost-wise to enter!

BD I cant comment - never done it.

I think BE is way ahead of the other two when it comes to looking up records, but even BE could improve. It would be great to be able to search all 8yo's for example, or all horses with Cavalier in their pedigree. I know it's a big ask, and it's already brilliant that they display breeding info, age and points FOR FREE (catch up BD and BSJA), but it's just a thought. It could help with promotion of British-produced horses abroad too, having a search facility like that.

For the BSJA website to make a slight bit of sense

re the breeding thing for BE.

They already have the info so they would just need to add a search facility, not too much extra work for them

absolutely, all the information's there, it's just a case of getting a programmer to write the right program.

BSJA - to have 6 monthly membership, they are really missing a trick there - also horse records should be free. The SJAI website is great for looking up records.

BSJA - STICK TO THE WARM UP ARENA RULES. It's simple. Left to left, you're in the british novice not the foxhunter finals, leave the warm up fence at a sensible height. No you do not own the arena just because you turned up in that massive horse lorry. If you cut me up once more or if you pass that close to me again I am going to report you. Yes. it's perfectly acceptable for me to warm my horse up on the left rein as well as the right rein.
Ok, rant over

On the old system you could! Was much better

BE: Better information about what the courses are like because, whatever level you are at (even levels below Novice Kerilli!) it DOES matter and courses can be very different. I would like to know what might be in a course before the day before when I've already paid my million squids to enter.
Other than that I think BE is fab.

BSJA: Agree with all other comments re website and available information. I even find it a pain to look at my own horses' records, it's just archaic compared to BE.
Also I am fed up with being treated as a second class citizen because I might dare to compete on a weekday when the 'pros' go and apparently it's completely acceptable to mess everyone else around because 'so and so' has a horse that's ready NOW, sod everyone else and how long they have been warming up.

BD: Haven't used it for ages so can't comment really. It used to be a bit painful to extract information online on horses/riders/shows but that may well have changed since I used it.

Is that enough?!

hahaha oh god yes. i used to go to Kingswood and stood out like a sore thumb as an eventer, for being the only one to have the temerity to try to warm up on the other rein to everyone else... no way was i going to go in to jump a round having only gone round on one rein!
apparently some junior whitakers turned up there recently and there was nearly a war between the local guys and them for control of the practice jump!

BE- to have a breeding system and total systems similar to racing post but there results system is brilliant !
Bsja and BD- free records !

BE- breeding thing as I have tried this through the search but its quite random, apart from that very good system and I cant fault the service they have given me and I have pushed the boat.

Echo discount for more than one membership.

BD dont know as yet but might register this winter or stick with TB

I also would like to see 6mth membership for BSJA.

And an umbrella fee for all 3 disciplines if you wanted to join all 3 I would def take advantage of this, having paid out over £450 at the start of the year for BSJA, BD and BE

BD: searchable database for competitions, so you can search by location, class, test, etc. A database of entries and results, so you can enter online, look up your times and check your results, all on the same site, rather than having to go through all the various venues and their bureaucracy.

BD the ability to enter online and to get your times online.

So much easier than trying to get through in the alloted 2 hour period.

BSJA - unlike most other BSJAers I would like to pre-enter and be given a specific time to jump to stop all the endless waiting around.
BD - I'd like more Combined Training classes - even if they're not qualifiers.
BE - never done any BE

Well i defo think there should be system of reg to all of them on a reduced rates

- Buy 2 get 3rd free

- All of them introducing a accredited riders system to ALL riders. like BE used to do and raise min age BUT have new junior sections........... as i think all these youngers one riding at BE, it's killing pony club...IMO

- BE making new membership deal for JUST owner, as my mother(being 70) will never compete, but to use her as owner on form she would have to pay say as me as RIDER totally wrong in my eyes...........

- some sort of helper system, if you do at minium 4 helps at events (ring stewarding, fence judging etc..) you get reduced entry voucher.............. with max per season....
