Take it the grey horses have just ended up there?

There's a breeder who creates crossbreeds, several were Exmoor X Clyde, with an Exmoor mare :(
They interfere with the herds' genetics and overbreed foals and won't get them DNA tested and have them slaughtered because they can't afford to pay for them.

I swear I could turn Militaire out with a herd of Exmoors and he'd just blend in - providing his legs were hidden by the gorse because they are a wee bit chunkier

I love the chestnut nanny - that is very cool.

Archie went straight out with the herd too and I had my heart in my mouth for the first 30 mins.

Despite you saying he craps his pants, he looks very chilled in the enormous box and busting his prancy moves in the field. :) Glad he's settling well and hope the human herd is just as easy. :D

The school was booked for lessons tonight, so we went for a walk about in hand, watched a bit of a lesson in the school, walked round a bit of the tracks & went into the jumping field. Dave was tacked up & I had hat & BP on.
Second time round the jumping field, I got on & we walked to the gate. Not sure how that happened! (obviously my subconsience totally intended it, hence hat & bp.}

He has a big bald bit on his neck tonight, so he's obviously been pushing his luck in the field, but no skin is broken & it's not sore to touch. Watch your step Boyo!

I don't think I'm ever more nervous than watching D get turned out with new horses, at his current yard he was part of the "most dramatic" herd introduction the YO had ever seen with lots of squealing and flybucking - was too busy trying not to have a heart attack to take pictures but he looked incredible!

So glad Dave's settling in and fingers crossed the people are as lovely as they seem :)

Tonight, we ticked 2 new things off the list. Catching a pony who's got his headcollar off (miraculously someone had found it & it was on the fence) & rode in the school, even getting on from the huge Purple Pony Eating Mounting Block.

Clever boy.

Had to comment as never knew Dave was out of a Frithesden mare! What a small world, a dear old friend in my village used to breed the Frithesden line, Pat McElligott, passed away a few years back, I had the pleasure of having a black Fell mare from her when I was a child as she dabbled in the Fells as well when it took her fancy, what an amazing old character she was, brings back some hilarious memories of her trundling around the village muttering away with her top false teeth rattling, trousers always held up with baling twine and an estate car full to the brim with lurchers :)

It is with great sadness that we must report the death of Miss Pat McElligott. Pat was a long-standing supporter of the Exmoor Pony Society and was made a Honorary Member in the mid 2000s. Pat was one of the first breeders away from Exmoor establishing the herd in 1952 and most people will probably know her best through her ponies - Herd 9, Frithesden.
Our thoughts are with all those who knew her - one of the greatest Exmoor pony characters who introduced so many youngsters to these wonderful ponies.

She was quite a woman from what I have been told & her ponies have certainly proven that. Dave's uncle Frithesden Alberti Bass is currently with a friend of mine & has been turning his hoof to all sorts. He's a cracking pony.

First proper day of work in our new home. We had a gas gun, a water sprayer (which gave us a nice cool mist when the wind caught it right) & some strange ponies in the next field. He did really well.

We walked in hand round one of the tracks to cool off & seeing the traffic in the distance warranted a good long look & a cross country fence required much snorting & a refusal to walk past, until I put a treat on it & sat on it.
