You may have all guessed by now but I am a border collie fanatic! :D
I noticed, after trawling through the forum there are quite a few folk with collies and so I decided to dedicate a thread to the lovely breed! Anybody want to share their collies or am I loner on this subject? :p:D

Ellie overload:

:D:D

Ellie looks awesome.
Not yet at the dizzy heights of adding pictures but ours is currently watching tv, her second favourite activity after herding sheep. We did an open farm Sunday event last weekend and she was the most popular thing there, was stroked by kids of all ages for 3 hours!

Thank you! :D
Aw, yours sounds fab! I love collies, so genuine and friendly!
You can upload your photo to photobucket and post the image link here and then I can see your collie!!
Ellie is currently asleep upstairs with the cat
I'd love to train a border collie as a working sheepdog but we don't have sheep and I wouldn't know where to start :p

Puppy Stig

This was actually a yawn but I don't think baby Saffie was convinced, lol

This is 6 years old...blimey

Getting ready for Christmas

My favourite picture

Hollie Bollie...she is actually brain damaged, a very bad rescue case when I got her as was used as bait for fighting dogs in Knowle West, Bristol. Bless her, she's a darling...

All of the good pictures of Hollie are on my phone, but to be honest, getting a good photo of her is extremely difficult as she is usually looking manically at something to obsess over bless her.

I will never be without a collie. They are quite simple the most amazing dogs to share your life with.

Gorgeous Collies everyone. Here's some pics of mine.

Bertie, nearly 15 years old.

Teagan, nearly 12 years old.

Skye, 7.5 years old

Star, 3 years old (Skye's daughter)

Lovely, lovely dogs!

I've always had collies so when I met my OH who had never had a dog before, I had to talk him into letting us have a dog! We got Oz from a BC rescue place (although maybe not full bred, there is significant quantity fo collie there - his cleverness, speed and agility prove it!)

He is pure white, with just some brown and black spots, mostly on the tips of his ears and hidden amongst the long-hair on his back.

My OH now takes Oz with him everywhere - he works for himself and does a lot of driving, so Oz is probably the best travelled dog in the UK! He loves having with him now though as it gives him an excuse to pull off onto nice quiet lanes nad go for a walk for a while to get away from it all during a busy day!

We were so lucky finding Oz - he is a fab friend and thinks that everyone loves him as much as he loves them! I have honestly never known such a people orientated dog before!

Anyway enough bunff....and apologies for the photo overload, but he is very photogenic (in my eyes) and you did ask! :D

Love seeing everyone elses BCs!
I always wanted a dog, since I was little, mother always said no. Then I was helping at a kennels and a 12 week old border collie was handed in, she said no, saw him, asked when the earliest we could take him was :D

This is within the first few weeks we got him home

When he was a bit older:

Then him now, 5 years old!

We have had our other border collie for almost 3 years now (in september), she is so so different to him. She is a real livewire and has an incredibly strong herding instinct.

She was rescued whree she was covered in mange and had already had a litter of puppies at a year old. Didnt have a name and was terrified of walking past you, but at the same time was so friendly.

A couple of days after we got her home (her fur was just growing back on her belly/tail and she looked rather pathetic!)

This is my boy, he's technically 'sheepdog' not border collie...

Been a bit of an up and down experience with him, but in hindsight (that wonderful thing) I should have walked away from him as a (badly bred) puppy. His mum had chewed half his ear off, he'd been removed from the litter and was in a stable with other (older) puppies.
That said, i love him to bits despite him causing a lot of heartache and grief. He's 9 now, and slowing down a bit :(.

There's nothing quite like a collie is there. Doubt i'll ever be without one now, or at least a crossbreed from a rescue.

You need to delete the spaces between "img" and "]". I only put them in my post because if you don't, the code disappears (i.e. it's read as an image). So close!

We have two crazy collies. Jerry we got as a puppy he was born exactly a month after we got married. Harvey was a sort of rescue. Hubby came home from work one day asking if we could trial having him for a week as a guy he worked with was being relocated, he never left. They are amazing dog but hard work sometimes. Especially when hubby is away a lot. Wouldn't be with out them now.

link is wrong! You need a "direct" link if you're going to do it this way - or the "IMG" code :)

My border collie is called Pippa. She is great fun and loves her ball and home made jumps. She plays with her ball on her own if she can't get any of us to join in. She usually manages to destroy some of the flower beds doing this but she cant help if she can't control where it goes. We always forgive her. She also keeps a good check on the chickens and loves her time down the yard with the horses. Love these dogs they are so intelligent.
