Today, we went for a whole series of trots in the woods! We've been going for lots of trots in the woods lately to a place where I sometimes have to make circles in a square place with a roof on (not the usual one where the Scary Chicken Flap Man lives; a different square place!), and then we go up a really really long hill that has rocks on it, or on a path where there is a very big mud place. We get to run really really fast sometimes!

Today, when we got to the square place with a roof on, we went to stand under the roof, and it was really nice: I got to eat a hay net, and I watched other horses make circles, which I think is only a fair division of labour. :p The Carrot Lady gave me a small round brown sweet crunchy thing, and that was good too, and I got lots of scratches from new people. :)

After a long time standing there, we finally went for our trot up the really long hill and then past the big mud place. We went with a tall brown horse that was in a real hurry, so I ran really really fast to keep up, and it was very exciting. :D I still don't know why he was in such a hurry, though. Maybe he wanted to go home and get a bucket with food in! :) We went along some different ways today, too, that I didn't know about. Then, he left, and we went back to stand in the square place some more. The Carrot Lady took my hay net away, which isn't very nice.

Then, I had to go for another trot in the woods! That's not how this is supposed to work! This time, we went with a white horse that had lots of small black spots on. He was very nice, and he didn't want to run nearly as fast. So I went in front a lot this time. :) We went past the big mud place again, and then past where the small ponies live. They wanted to say hello to the white horse with spots on, but I wanted to go home.

When we got back to the square place again, I finally got to go home! :) I ran really fast again a few times on the way home, but I was really pretty tired, so I just walked most of the time. But there were two (2) scary things on the way home: first, there was a place where there were some log things and wire, that weren't there last time I went there. They were already there when we came out earlier, but they were worse on the way home, somehow. And then there was a people foal on a pink thing with wheels on.

Then, we got home, and I got my blue bucket with food in, and my white licky thing, and another round brown sweet thing! :) And the Carrot Lady said I smell. Of course I smell: my nose is a lot bigger than her nose! Why do you suppose she said that?

I'll come for a trot with you spooky, except I'd rather gallop and jump things! I'm nice and don't kick or bite or anything. If you all nicely I might steal the smacky thing that humans like to wave at us when they think we're being bad, and then see how they like being smacked! Carrots, Ron

I'd like to come with you . . . I love to trot really fast . . . and sometimes, just sometimes I like to surprise my human and go from walk to gallop (even though I pretend I can't go from walk to canter in the big oblong roofless room). I'm a bit unsure about strange places, people and horses though, so do you think you could go in front? I'd feel much better behind your bottom . . . and I might even give you a reassuring (for me) sniff every now and then, just so you I know you're in charge and you know I'm there . . . would that be ok?

Kal

P.S. My human says I'm a very nice boy . . . I don't kick or bite, I don't race other horses . . . but I do get a tad insecure and like to be close to my horsey friends when I am scared . . .

Dear Ron, I like to gallop too! I'll jump things with you if they're not too big, and if you can show me they're safe to jump!

Dear Kal, you're welcome to come along! I'm very good at walk-to-gallop too, so maybe we can do that together! :) I don't mind going in front, and I don't kick other horses, except for the brown one that I had to tell that I wasn't going to be low pony. I kicked him in the nose 3 times before he got it! But I won't kick you; you sound nice! :)

Sounds like a lovely, if very trotty, sort of day :D

There was walking and cantering too, but mostly trotting!

Love this, made me smile!

You should join us, too! Sofar, we have Ron and gingerknobbermare! :)
