Somebody asked about a horsebox being far too cheap..... now I can't the post!!!

This was the box link: http://www.adhorse.co.uk/horseboxforsale_16486.html

Just to confirm your thoughts, whoever you were, this ad is a fraud, as with many others on that oh so trustworthy site!
The unit was sold previously for more than double that amount, and the current owner is non too happy about the sale ad!!!
Just to put your mind at rest, after some searching and double checking, numerous people have replied to his dodgy email and sent personal details..... unusually, nobody has actually yet had a bargain horsebox delivered?!?!?!

Previous sale??? Prove it you ask....oh ok, half way down the page!!!

Ok, so its Sunday and it's snowing and I'm blonde (well out of a bottle), but am I being particularly thick as I can't see the point of advertising a horsebox for sale that isn't yours to sell? Is it some sort of scam?

I am confuzzled too.

I am also blonde out of a bottle with a large amount of grey, which luckily for me looks blonde. Anyway that off the point.

I'm not blonde but I don't understand what you are getting at which site or person did the person who bought it buy it from Adhorse or Central?

How do you know it's not a different box with same paint etc?

I don't have a box (only a trailer) so maybe I'm missing something. Can you expalin a little more. ie who did the person who thinks its the advert from her box buy her box from. I'm confusing myself now. (Not hard)

Funny we were just looking at that ad last night!
As OH says there's no way someone could believe it would be that price. We thought typo too.
Must admit didn't think scam.

My first thought was that it was a way of pulling potential buyers in when they think 'oh, geat price' When told it;s sold they wonder what else is available. Obviously this thought was wrong, but I cannot understand anybody paying for something so important that they don't at least get a look or a check done.

EEE ecky thump!!!

Let me try and make this clearer, somebody posted re this vehicle and got a reply, which basically stated, the seller wanted to proceed thru ebay, and all finacial transactions would be conducted BY ebay. He's out of the country blah blah, please send name address etc via email only.
** Unusually this scammer has a UK based btinternet.com address!!!**

Person wasn't 100% sure if it's a scam or not, thought I'd have a gander and see what happens, so I emailed for the Reg Number and a few details explaining I'd be happy to pick the box up and pay cash at the asking price. Funny enough I got exactly the same email reply as the poster on here, with a NO PICKUP addition!!! No details etc no reg number, no phone number, in fact nothing I asked for!!

So to check and run a quick fraud enquiry, I first checked where the photo's had come from....the EXACT same PHOTO was copied of the other site listed, the interior photo's copied from 2 further ad's on different sites, identified by the originating location on the internet!
I then obtained the vehicle details...won't tell you how, but suffice to say this vehicle sold recently for a great deal more than advertised....I then made contact with the current keeper, who nearly had a baby when I told her the unit was back up for sale, and gave the site details.
Result...... it's a scam, a fraud, a criminal act etc etc, the seller wants your personal details, they then want a deposit before psoting on ebay, they want your ... BANK details, so they can arrange a bacs transfer of the outstanding monies via ebay..... DO i need to continue??
Thought not.

Point of post.... scammers now use British details and email addresses, certain websites, happily take money and post fraudulent adverts, with no checking performed, said sites when asked about the situation..... "it's a paid for advert, it's of no concern if it's genuine or not, it's for the buyer to check"

Second point... if it looks to good to be true, it most probably is!!!

definitely a scam......

the other "scam/con" has to be the claim that this lorry could carry 3 horses and still be under legal limit for a 7.5T...
