I'd have a strong cup of tea before hand and maybe a stiff g&t afterwards as your eyes will be watering in sympathy. If you are squeamish at the sight of blood, take something comfortable and place it strategically in case you faint. Maybe you should have a card with your GP's phone number on it handy and give your car keys to a trusted friend in case you are not fit to drive because of sickness and fainting. Can't think of anything else. I'm sure you'll be fine lol!
Avoid infection: Keep the flies off it ... don't let any dirt get in the wound... (happens quite easily when horses start rolling again and choose a dusty patch - don't let him do that) ... I'm sure your vet will fill you in though!
...and I think most male domesticated horses end up living happier lives without their gonads anyway... it usually means more social time too...

I'm aiming for the big day to be in mid april before it gets too warm!!
And he is T/O all the time at present so no change there!
