well went off to collect cobby today, he wasnt to keen on loading,,.. um this needs working on but i did know that he took a while.. a while being about 15 mins. how ever i really need to learn to let go of horses when they p off.. finally got him on and set off. half way home and theres banging so get off motor way to check and hes managed to dislodge a partiton on the bottom, rearrange lorry whilst cobby in it, and some moron telling me we cant park where we have and may have to move.. ok so i admit, after being very nice I gave him 2 options.. could we have a hand ...NO he said, so i said ok piss off then.

horses in transit when theres an issue really isnt my thing especially knowing hes not the best loader it was so important to me to give him a good trip grrr.

get him home, rug/boots off and lob him out.. will say hes a very kind lad but my god does he need some manners!

piccies!

Yes please, I would be willing to swap it for several acres of mud :)

have it.. thats only half the field the other half is fenced off and is lush green horrid stuff plus i have a another 5 arce field too im not used to having coblets so am being very careful from this moment!

He is lovely. Look forward to hearing how you get on. My cob can be a bit bolshy when she is stressed and managed to turn herself right round in the trailer (no partition)when we first got her with both ropes still attached!
We have got lots of grass as well, am strip grazing the two cobs and being careful as they live on fresh air.

he really is rude, the vet that vetted commented on it. give me a few weeks, i really dont do rude horses. to be fair, whilst tryin gto sort out the partiton in the box he stood like a lamb..

he's a cracker! a really lovely sort!

I'm sure you know enough about horses and don't need some random on a forum telling you how to do it all.... but don't be afraid to be bossy with him - IME most cobs will be perfectly respectful if you're calm, consistent but FIRM with them! He'll soon learn, sounds just like nobody's ever told him he shouldn't push people around! Once he realises you won't take any rubbish he'll soon load easy enough!

He's a handsome lad. I'm not usually a cob person but he has a lot of presence about him.

Sounds like he'll be the most mannerly cob in England quite quickly!

He looks lovely, definitely my sorta horse!
As for his lack of manners I can't stand that either and well they're never too old to learn!
Hope you have lots of fun with him and keep posting pics cause he's gorgeous!:D

Ah bless 'Cobby' he looks like a smasher!
I call my cob The Blob, although just lately he is behaving like an overly proteined warmblood!
Has he got a posh name and where did he come from?

Edited to say: Ooh I sound like Cilla....what's yer name and where do yer come from

LOL when i was tryin gto load him he was being a monster turning shoulder and peeing off., when that didnt work we had 2 rears and 2 high paws. old owner was there so was very nice to cobby. only put rope around nose and dragged him up.

got him home and the monster refused to stand whilst boots removed , so he did get a heafty slap and a stand!
