I managed to get a late entry on Thursday and thought it would be a good first outing for the year (not been anywhere since about Oct
), especially as I get 2 disciplines in one trip!!
Anyway, Ginger Beast warmed up beautifully for the dressage and was behaving extremely well considering a lack of parties lately! Got into the arena for the test and the killer white boards were out in force
...they were HUGE, nothing like we get when eventing!! Anyway, I think the poor boy held his breath around most of the test so was a tad tense, but he tried his best and managed to hold it together, so lots of polos after that ordeal!! Managed to scrape 61.5% which is quite low for him but understandable due to lack of 'white board work' thro the winter!!
I was a bit concerned about the showjumping as he is a spooky little monster, but I needn't have been today, he was a bit of a demon tbh!! I think one of our last outings was a BSJA where I decided to have a go at this jumpoff lark...think he likes being feisty!!
So a good day out for us and a good start to 2008, think we came 7th so just out of placings but not too bothered as it was an eduactional trip!!
Got to meet Catembi which was good, its great meeting HHO's when I'm out and about, such a friendly bunch!!!
