What do you do? Do you
- give your horse a day off
- normal work
- lighter work than usual

Sometimes i think it would be nice to give a day off after they have worked well and possibly a long day but then think its good for them to stretch there legs. Just wondered what others do.

It depends on what we've been doing and what I have on. Generally Monday is Genie's day off anyway, but sometimes I will take her for a hack just in walk to get us both out and relaxing after competing the day before.

Depends what we've done at the comp, and when it is!

Compete sat and we'll def just hack sunday. But compete sunday and we will usually have our regular jumping lesson on a monday. I do find that doing gridwork / bounces will really get him using himself (with lots of warming up and cooling down) and he's even better for it.

If its an ODE then a day off. If its a weekend away two days off, just a BS he won't get a day off but might just hack and if its dressage he's schooling the next day to work on what the judge has put.

Day off in the field or a light pobble round the fields, nothing strenuous, but then straight back into normal routine the day after and working on what the judge has said! :)
