Hello all! yes its the dreaded 4x4 question. i currently have a 207 and a disco, hopefully the mother is having the 207, the disco is going and im looking to get a smaller 4x4 capable of towing! budget no more than 5K!
Engine size cannot be over 2.5, purley because my insurance will then be far to high. Age- no more than 10 years old.
I am currently looking into a santa fe. They are rated well for towing, have a very good mpg considering its a 4x4 and reasonable insurance ( i am only 20!)
Was also looking at the kia sorrento but have read about the drive shaft problem so this has put me off it.
Are there any i am forgetting about. I cant have anything huge as i work in the town centre so it needs to fit into tight spaces ;-)

what weight do you need to tow? i have a 9 yr old isuzu trooper SWB and i love it, it is easier to park than my estate car, so easy to manouver, does 30mpg, i have the citation so lots of extras and comfy, looks good and towes up to 3.5 tonnes. it is 3 litre engine but so reliable.

it needs to tow one horse upto 550kg and most likely an ifor 505. the insurance is to ridiculous on anything over 2.5 its bad enough on the disco ;-)
