A while back I made an offer of a free stay at our chateau in the Loire France in exchange for some help with my boy.
Some of you thought it was an odd and were rather sceptical ! Even suggested that I may lock you in some imaginary dungeon !

So for those that were sceptical and wondering what happened. My offer was taken up by Richard Chamberlin & his wife.

Richard is a accomplished with working Spanish horses & specialises in Vaquero he has worked trained with some great masters such as Joao Oliveira (son of Nuno Olivera)

His way thus far is very calming and his knowledge and love of all things horse is plentiful.

Richard started of with some ground work with. Just Armas & bridle Richard and his switch he spent an hour or so getting to know the horse.

Yesterday we spent time in the Arena supplying Armas and working him in a very slow walk then progressed on to some very slow lateral work. This is a little clip from yesterday.

Whats a brilliant idea? Having a dungeon ??? Beacuse I can assure you I do not. Mind you it would not take much to convert the wine seller which is a small cave in to one :eek:

I am going to video the week and will post a short clip from each day if any one is interested.

Richard is in for a treat tomorrow one of my local friends loves dressage and has invited us over to see his boy who was sired by Totilas should make for an interesting morning !
 
Very cool! I love the lightness of the contact, and the way he uses his body more than anything to move your horse around. It is exactly the way my friends and I are taught here (and we are at a show jumping yard) - use your body more, more leg, take the tension out of the contact. I have rather a lot of improving to do though, it is all a bit messy at the moment!

Dear Mr Armas. I am not trying to be horrible here, nor do I have any axe to grind, nor do I wish to be offensive to ANYONE, particularly Mr Chamberlain, BUT - this man is not riding your horse well AT ALL. I know you love Armas - hell, we all love Armas - so please, asap, stop this man bouncing all over him, unbalancing him and trying out amatuerish, Baucherite flexions which are plainly confusing and annoying your lovely horse. I actually HAVE ridden with the Oliviera's (father and son), and no way did they teach this man to ride like that.
