Um.
May i take this opportunity to share some "learning" with you all.... on the effect of E numbers on large hairy horses........
As you'll have seen from Hovis' diary on friday he has had a few issues with his manly parts and there was concern that he's not been drinking enough. The vets sugested to hubby to put some electrolytes that tasted nice in buckets for him to drink. As we didn't have any in they suggested as a stop gap to put a small amount of fruit cordial in the water to entice him to drink. As i was away hubby duely bought some Robinsons apple and blackcurrent cordial and put a tiny amount in his water bucket. Success!! He was drinking it by the huge bucketful. Hubby was most pleased and I was most relieved.
Then hubby took him for a trot round the field on saturday whilst i followed on foot with the dog.... OMG!
E numbers turn Hovis into a racing snake. I have never seen him go so fast in the whole of the time I've had him. Hubby couldn't hold him and had no choice but to let him burn off some steam. Three circuits of a very large field in gallop later hovis eventually pulled up barely breathing hard and looking very very pleased with himself.
Needless to say he's back on normal water for a few days then having boring old electrolytes from now on! The robinsons is down the drain....
