The owner of TEHP is still in Australia leaving the running of the charity (which is now registered in Australia) to her Egyptian husband or so was thought. There seems to be an influx of animals with broken legs and two of them are now amputees, a mule with a very obvious broken leg has had a lot of questions asked about her on the vets in Cairo fb page. Two Egyptian women who are very much anti euthanasia have admitted on there that they are running the stables and actually own most of the inmates, meanwhile supporters are still being urged to donate for food, rent etc and have no idea about the real situation and who is in charge. Meanwhile on The Egypt Horse Project fb page they are being shown pictures of dogs and a cute kitten and anyone who asks a question is quickly deleted and banned.

Ive included the link to the question and answer group because that is where most of the links are, there is also a link there to the ACNC page, be warned though as there is a lot of graphic photos so not for the squeamish, please check it out and make a complaint to the ACNC and help close down this hell hole for horses and donkeys.
 
Wow. I am disgusted that animals that are landing in these (so called rescues) and quite possibly suffering more cruelty than they did before they where unlucky enough to land there. That poor donkey and those AMPUTEES! I am lost for words, I really am :( who on earth funds these places with a clear conscience? they are funding abuse!
 
I was hoping it would have all wound up and gone to the wall by now too.

the photos of that poor head pressing mule :(, and what is the obsession of taking the legs of things? I don't know how that works to anyone's advantage. I guess you can still ask for donations if your animals are still alive but it isn't like there is a shortage of needy cases out there.
 
To those who assume that slaughter or the meat trade is the worst place for a horse to end up... THIS is a very extreme and real example of where rescues/people/dealers/scam artists create living hell.......

As I understand she is in Australia- is there not some way to bring media attention to her while she is out there? In order to maybe get this place shut down or for someone who actually can and will care appropritately, and the poor horses PTS/dealt with properly?
 
The Kiwi Care Team also meet up with the same problem, they want to put animals to sleep but the religion there forbids it. basically leaving it to nature to kill or cure.

Its awful that this sort of thing happens and at least someone is trying to help. I have no knowledge of the Egypt Horse Project but know some of the people involved with the 'Kiwi Care Team'
 
Other charities manage to work around it though such as PFK and not all Egyptians feel this way about euthanasia, the easy option is to stop taking them in, if these women activists have no place to take them then they would lose interest but they are being helped by TEHP. They are actually providing transport to either bring them back to TEHP or transport to a hospital where a vet is willing to do amputations, once amputated these poor souls go back to TEHP where they suffer dreadfully. The animals at the stables are in a shocking condition and there is very little evidence of any food being provided. I will put up some videos later of a visit by 2 concerned local ladies who filmed their time at TEHP.

What religion are you talking about ? I'm not aware of any religion that does.
 
Is there not another ethical and well organised charity that works within Egypt (i.e. The Brook Hospital) that knows the laws and cultures within Egypt that could investigate this hell hole of a so called animal sanctuary and effect it's safe repatriation of the animals, closure of it and prosecution of all those responsible wherever they may be hiding in the world.

it just gets more shocking and have to say im a follower of PFK as they do put the horses down if they are severely injured but TEHP is a whole other kettle of fish i dont really understand how they have followers! and whats more alarming is they never seem to answer questions just delete them!!

Brook have been to investigate as they have posted the 'results' of it on the questions and answer page.

Are they still getting donations DG? does anyone know? Are there people out there who are so anti euthanasia they think amputation is worthwhile thing to contribute too? I think I just thought that when this started to come out/people initially quite involved realised what was going on funds would dry up and there would be no point in them continuing their little charade.
 
The thing is now they are registered in Australia they have a lot of supporters from there who only know what is on their page, they are constantly begging for money and its very difficult for an outsider to know how much they are collecting. As its illegal to collect money outside of Egypt and send it in they are trying to get registered in Egypt but as has been admitted by the women activists they own most of the horses and donkeys there so you have to ask why is the supporters money going to fund someone elses horses.

The amount being touted for the registration in Egypt is also being disputed by the rav page, AL was quoted a price before she left for Oz by someone who has posted their conversation for everyone to see on line. The figure she was quoted is a lot less than the figure she is fund raising for. Of course the supporters are oblivious to this as anyone asking questions has their post deleted and they are quickly banned.

This anti euthanasia has confused a lot of people, people seem to think this is the muslim way but its not, we have had an Islamic scholar and teacher come onto the RAV page to give us a link to prove it isnt. I will post the link for everyone to read.

I have, I just saw the them on facebook, OMG....what are these people thinking, how can anyone feel it acceptable to actually amputate the limbs of such large animals? it actually looks disturbing!!
 
AV has left TEHP also now, just leaves AL and her tiger Mom running TEHP main page. All UK admins were dismissed, by deletion without their knowledge, a while back. So the timing to post your comments on TEHP is very relevant, as AL and DL will surely be offline for at least a short period of time while they sleep? Are they sleeping in shifts???

Thank you for the information Tazzytop about the admins, AV has been an avid supporter for them and they will miss her, I wish she had decided before though as she had dismissed our photos as circumstantial. How anyone can look at the photos of the mule and not see what we see, an animal really suffering and dismiss it as circumstantial is beyond me.

The way TEHP have been deleting comments have brought over quite a few people to our page and Ive included our link above so people can see for themselves.

I just looked at the page and photo's and I want to get a gun and start shooting the people that find this acceptable :(
