has popped up on my FB page. I have suggested people look at the thread on here for information.

Has anyone got updates on this horrendous 'charity' ?

As I was scammed into donating before I realised what was going on, I follow it quite closely. The latest stuff is:

- Photos of dogs taken by visitors were leaked, these were rescued dogs and allegedly well looked after. But they were much deteriorated from their original condition - thin, bleeding, covered in ticks. Soon after, TEHP announced that they had been 'poisoned' and died. Also a cat too. They said they'd taken some to ESAF (a great local charity) but ESAF confirmed they were never contacted. So a diagnosis of poisoning seems suspicious to say the least and it seems more likely they starved to death or died from ticks. TEHP accused local people (who have exposed the abuse online) of poisoning them. Despite the fact locals were offering help and alerting them to offers of new homes. Just today a local person who lives at a stable nearby has come forward to say that Ahmed locked the dogs (and we assume cat too) in a very hot room to kill them. Despite broken English, it does sound like it fits. We'll probably never know what happened. To add to the abuse/neglect of the small animals, a local boarded his rescue dog at TEHP having been assured by Ahmed it would be taken care of. I'm not sure if they always advertise boarding there, this seems to be a new thing. Anyway to sum up, the man found his dog dying - covered in ticks and blood, lying in a pool of urine and poo. After days in intensive care at a good vet, the dog is alive but has gone blind. This man is now spreading the word - as he's a local this has to be a good thing. Other animal loving locals are now more aware than ever and will know to avoid.

- Cena, a striking looking stallion who TEHP has had for ages, was 'rehomed'. However no details were given, which was odd considering other rehomed horses were shown in their fantastic new homes (I should point out that these homes weren't set up by TEHP exactly, but aided by concerned locals and other charities). Diane, Ash (TEHP CEO)'s mother said she couldn't confirm or deny if he would be working in his new 'home'. Locals reported that he'd been sold to a man in Fayoum (a nearish city where Ahmed, the head groom and Ash's husband is from). This man in Fayoum trains dancing horses - an awful practice involving abuse and barbaric bits, coercing the horses into 'dancing' through pain. Shortly after this was announced, local people began to look for him urgently. Suddenly he appears back at TEHP, as his new 'owner' was frightened by people looking for him. Riiiiiiight...

- TEHP has rehomed several horses to a new charity who are (phew!) completely fantastic. The owner of his charity, Jill, seems to have very cleverly manipulated TEHP in a friendly way, offering homes to many of the horses without accusing TEHP of abuse, thereby getting Ash on side somewhat, and as an end result many of the horses now finally have a lovely home and an on-site vet who can finally nurse them to health again. All their feet have been done - the state of some was shocking. Oh and they're not only horses, some donkeys too. The dogs were meant to go too, but Ash refused for some reason (presumably because one was a GSD and therefore seen as a status symbol for Ahmed), and sadly now they are dead only days later. Hmmm...

- TEHP has now officially moved into new premises. The site is thankfully near the decent new charity and some other knowledgeable people, so they have no excuse for not having a vet handy or people willing to help out - and these people can also keep an eye on them discreetly. The downside is that the new premises have been signed for by two people - Ahmed and Salwa. Salwa is one of two 'activists' who have recently got involved with TEHP while Ash the owner is in Australia (since February, allegedly completing a vet nurse degree online....). These two 'activist' women are anti-euthanasia in all cases. They also say they 'own' several of the animals now - we assume they have bought them. More on that in my next point. The other downside to the new stables is the size. There are a lot more stables and thus a lot more space for more 'rescues' to be abused. Within a day of moving in, we have seen photos of a new horse - not a rescue - who has appeared. This new horse is apparently privately owned by Ash. He is black, 2 yrs old, called Loki. No mention of him or photos before. So this means she has apparently bought him while in Australia. Seems madness to buy another when TEHP is already in a mess, but sadly it is unsurprising. She now has three private horses. Charity money rents the whole new stables, regardless of the ratio of private horses to charity horses kept there. They certainly have a lot of stables and land now, it seems they are becoming almost a livery yard as an extra income, with some of Ash, Salwa, and Ahmed's private horses too. Just a few charity cases with one leg between them to make sure they still come across as a 'charity' and can continue to pay for everything through that route...

- The activists mentioned above, Salwa and Maryam, are now seemingly managing things on the ground with Ahmed and his 12year old brother (who is frequently used as a tool to be photographed to be 'cute' for their Fbook page). As they are 100% against putting any animal to sleep, there are now numerous amputee donkeys and one amputee horse in the 'care' of TEHP. We haven't seen many photos of them, but it goes without saying this is no life for an equine and I won't patronise anyone by explaining why. There is also a mule with a broken leg. Visitors photographed this mule pushing her head against a brick wall. She is like this in all photographs, even those published by TEHP. There are clearly huge problems here. The poor thing has the most nauseatingly deformed broken leg and has had for months. I won't post a photo as it is too upsetting, but if you want to see just scroll down the 'the egypt horse project - questions and concerns' page on Fbook and you'll eventually find it. So this mule and various 3-legged equines are being kept alive, but have no life.

- As ever, photos keep emerging taken by visitors and locals, of horses looking skinnier than they were when they were 'rescued', untreated wounds, small animals riddled with ticks, horses standing in pools of urine with no bedding or food. The list goes on, but none of this is really new or news.

- All the former administrators and helpers on the Facebook page, many of whom were formerly very pro-TEHP and refused to see what was happening (some pretended and went along with it in the hope they could influence change and get the animals out of there, to be fair) - they are all now openly against TEHP and sharing information and attempting to get it closed down. It is registered in Australia as a charity and they are working with the governing body. However it seems the body isn't too hot on abuse abroad and it more interested in any dodgy financial stuff - luckily there's plenty of that too. The Facebook page is now run exclusively by Ash and her aggressive mother Diane. Any posts that ask questions, even politely, are deleted and the person blocked. If you go on you'll see questionable photos of the animals with it saying '41 comments'. You click 'read more' and it shows about 5, all people saying 'Aww poor horse, glad it is with your charity now' and similar generic things from people who don't realise (due to the heavy filtration/moderation on the page) what is really going on. Or some may be fake accounts made by Ash and Diane. No one really knows.

Think that's it. Someone may be able to fill in anything i've missed.

All of the above

Go to the The Egypt horse project questions and answers and it will shock and amaze you at what this girl has got away with.

She has apparently also been on Farrier type course but didn't complete it (from what i have read) then educated her stable boys how to 'trim' the horses feet...

Also they hardly update there supporters of the animals 'recovery' from what i have seen also they don't really understand how to look after animals... saying that ticks are not a problem (well we all know they are!) and ready to move the blame to something or someone else..

Absolutely LittleMonster. The farrier course was a proper 12 month course and would have resulted in her being qualified to do barefoot trimming. The agency that ran it contacted the Questions and Concerns group to say that she dropped out after 2 months and did not have any practical trimming experience and had not been engaged with it at all. As she had a further 10 months to go, she left without any qualification.

She then taught Ahmed to trim, using this awful 2 month knowledge, over Skype. Hence the state of all their hooves...

OMG i didn't know it was Skype!! thats dreadful.

I have already contacted the charity people in Australia to look through the charity as something is very very fishy!

Also i read that she had started a rescue in the UK or Australia and then abandon the horses to go to Egypt, and when the lady who was left with them asked what she wanted done with the ponies left she apparently said to shoot them...

And also they denied amputating the legs of rescues but when Broke (i think) went to visit the stables they were caught on camera, and they advise Ahmed to put most of the horses to sleep as they had no quality of life... but they were still alive last time i checked but who knows!!!!

Please share on FB your concerns. She has just turned up on my FB and I have posted to let others know she is not a god person. she is getting so many likes for her helping horses, makes me sick to my stomach.

For anyone else who wants to contact the Aussie charity commission they're registered with. Many people already have, but fruitless so far.

Also to address your other points, yes Ash previously ran a rescue in the UK. She had three New Forest meat foals, but abandoned them in some kind lady's field. This lady has since come forward, to let the Questions and Concerns group have screen shots of emails and texts where Ash repeatedly refuses to pay rent for the field, asks for them to be shot, and shows no concern when one dies. The lady who owned the field did what she could, but had no money to sort out vets etc herself as despite raising money, Ash wouldn't part with it. After one died, she asked that the others be shot. The lady managed to find them homes. Ash then went to continue this 'good work' in Egypt after reading about Prince Fluffy Kareem (another Egyptian charity) online and wishing to copy their success and business model that is based on social media to raise funds. As we know, it didn't exactly work out like this as she decided to ignore the Prince Fluffy Kareem standard of, you know, feeding and getting vets for the horses.

Yes they have denied amputations, but then also said at other points that yes they have amputated, and that the animals are doing well. There is a picture of one of these donkeys on the Q&C group. It is heartbreaking to see. It has a pole for a foreleg.

Yes, The Brook went in to do a report after so many concerns were raised. It was damning to say the least. Many were advised to be PTS, those being made to work in appalling condition to provide another income all needed feeding and feet doing, the poor conditions were brought up, lots of stuff that I won't go into as it is all there on the Q&C group. Someone scanned it in (a former admin, who decided to speak out, I think) as it was originally a paper report. It confirms all suspicions. A Brook vet has since been in along with some concerned locals who also took a video camera. They were unable to film much due to many horses being hidden, but in the video you can hear Ahmed trying to sell some horses to them, horses in no state to be worked of course, and you can see the awful feed room where an ill dog is lying in a dirty floor. The feed room has nowhere near enough feed for the amount of equines they had, and is tiny so could never hold enough. This explains the scrawny condition of the horses, even those who were bought in good health but have now started to look like rescue cases. They simply don't feed them enough, and sometimes they are left all day without anything to eat including forage - and when they are given forage it's thrown into the urine filled stable floors as shown in photos. Disgusting.

Have followed the thread but not looked at any pictures, this is obviously a massive con to get money out of people to line their own pockets. Im full of admiration for those trying to help, if this was the UK it would have been sorted by now, but obviously in a country like Egypt animals are not valued at all. Hope there is some progress soon

If anyone would like to help, the best thing to do is

A) sign the petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/930/124/196/the-egypt-horse-project-horror-amputating-equine-limbs-/

B) email the ACNC to say you have concerns about cruelty, neglect and financial scamming: http://www.acnc.gov.au/ACNC/Contact...spx?hkey=5fe0e51d-b2e3-4417-8de9-799d0f90b483

C) perhaps the most effective, save any more poor people like me from being conned into donating by spreading the word to as many Australian horsey people as you possibly can. Aussies are the ones donating the most, as the Facebook page for TEHP is so heavily filtered to make everything look great they don't know what is really doing on. And since Ash has lost UK supporters as they have mostly all seen or heard the truth, it's being promoted a lot more in her home country of Australia now. They don't have one big popular forum but there is vichorse, cyberhorse, and a few others, not to mention many many Facebook groups were you can bring it up. Have a look here: https://www.facebook.com/RescueAnimalsVoice/posts/828040577214100?notif_t=like

Thanks just wanted to add it on here if people were interested but like before all the pictures/evidence is on the Q And A's answer page.

I think its safe to say those of us involved are still reeling from being accused of poisoning the dogs and cat, we have fought long and hard to get those animals out of that hell hole and then to be accused of this heinous crime just beggars belief.

You can also find out more on fb Vets In Cairo page.

I have missed a bit, and I could not find anything on FB today either :( are people still giving funds?

People are still donating as far as I know, mostly Aussies and as their page is heavily censored there is never any idea that anything is wrong so they are oblivious to the true nature of TEHP and they have been told that cruel people who have a vendetta against Ashleigh for some reason are intent on closing them down and are suspected of poisoning those poor dogs and a cat. This has made their supporters very angry as you can imagine and all the time the fire is fuelled by Diane Lotherington who is Ashleighs mother and biggest supporter, the only admins now are Ashleigh and her mother, the others have all come over to the dark side and joined us. Its funny that we have not lost a single supporter to them, its one way traffic only.
