..has several horses in it and is full of ragwort. It's pretty hard to miss as not even hedged in and is directly opposite their main entrance. I know they mainly deal with small animals but the inspectors go in and out and you would think that they would know about it!

i know where you mean i live in the vicinity not far away. I went from Liverpool to Runcorn on the train a couple of weeks ago and behind the field by the RSPCA there is road think its called baileys lane (its split by a road). This backs onto the railway tracks and to my horror there was quite a few ponies and coloured cobs in a field FULL of ragwort. The field looked bare and dry. I tried to figure out where abouts it was but im not quite sure. There was a couple of field shelters in it, two fields joined together. I just flashed past on the train and wasnt quite sure of the location even tried google earth! The Field you are talking about isnot good either maybe the officers there just care about Dogs!

Nope, not yet. That's my next step. The land isn't attached to any houses and the horses seem to come and go so maybe it is difficult to track the owners down.

Yes thats true! I used to drive past said field couple of years ago its never been good. I once saw a lady come to feed the horses there about lunch time as i was parked up having a break! Dont know who owns the field but its not good. Do you know the other field im talking about its kinda behind that field separated by the houses or behind them. It is really bad i saw foals amongst tons of ragwort. Got a suspicion its gypsy dealers tho they were all colored or most of them. It was about 5 weeks ago

In all fairness if it was the Dog's Trust you wouldn't think anything of it - the people working at that branch may only know about dogs and cats. definately worth a pop in, with some of the downloadable leaflets from the BHS' website in your hand.

I'm not sure. Is it between Speke Blvd and the train line? I'll keep an eye out tonight when I drive past! I may even go for a little reconnaissance drive around before I contact the RSPCA about it.

Shouldn't the inspectors know about it though? To be fair, maybe they are trying but it seems a bit wrong that a field directly opposite a main branch should have horses and be full of ragwort.

I live right by it, this field is a bone of contention for me. Constantly people there feeding the horses all kinds. Have tried to pin down owners with no success. The horses are normally off there by the end of summer though

Im based in liverpool and the rspca field officers here are shocking they talk the talk but dont do anything. We had to beg them to take action about a horse who was that thin and immaciated it was struggling to stand but as it had shelter and water it wasnt priority
