Dizz as lost a front shoe, so even if the blasted snow stayed away I can't work her (due to her wonky pelvis she has to stay even all round

).

Have to say I am seriously fed up with this winter. I would have preferred the rain to stay if I had known we were going to get yards more suited to Torvill and Dean than horses.
Hopefully your farrier is still full of goodwill and will come and put your shoe back on fairly quickly!!

More snow, no!!!
Had mine out to eat some grass for 1st time in 10 days today, and I dread to think that we'll be snowed in again!

Oh God I am soooo glad its not just me I have been so depressed this past week and had Girl Flu too!!.

Dare I hijack this post MrsM to say this:-

I get very anxious about having no turnout in winter as so many people say it is wrong but....

There is a local yard that is appealing to me and the boy which has lovely stables a menage and separate turnout paddocks. Its on my maybe if I move him list.

During the last Icy blast my horse got turned out in an indoor school every morning (Igot up extra early to make sure it was free)

He got ridden or lunged everyday and just before christmas the arena was booked out twice by outsiders which miffed me and made me stamp my petulant foot as it was at times I wanted it.

My point is that I had a chat to these girls (who Ihated because they rode exceptionally well) and they were from said yard and their horses hadnt been out for days as it wrecks their turnout paddocks their menage was frozen and so were the roads.

So apparently said grass isnt always greener.

Its the mud I am tired of. Fed up of having all my clothing tinged Devon Red. Re turn out we turn out when we can but they do cut up the ground at the moment otherwise its haylage all the way! At least the days are getting longer.
Back of the donor lorry coming off tomorrow so we will be chassis ready to move the box across!!

I will be there poised with camera. When I asked them what I could do they said "Just dont touch anything!" so that was me put in my place

We have gone from 6" of snow to nothing all in the space of a day or so, unfortunately now it is just sheer ice everywhere so I still cannot ride. We are forecast more snow from tuesday onwards. It is seriously depressing me not being able to ride
