Anyone who has emailed for a sponsorship form - they're on their way out now. Sorry for the cut and paste job on the email, I know it's a bit rubbish but it saves me a bit of time!

I have had lots of interest here and there are now definitely going to be at least eight of us and very possibly more! Will be able to speak to more people out shooting tomorrow.

As some of them are rather elderly (at least two are in their 70's!
shocked.gif
) we are going to walk 5 miles to the pub, have lunch and walk the 5 miles back. I am going to arrange to have a couple of trucks parked in the pub car park so we can put the dogs in there.

I have chosen the route and it is over high moorland so unfortunately there is a very good chance the weather conditions will not be in our favour (if its foggy - its a no go). So I have picked an alternative route following the river to the same pub

We have chosen Sunday 8th November which is Rememberance Sunday and I have got my first two sponsors already

I have got as far as printing off a sponsorship form and sticking it up in the kitchen at work

I have said I am going to do 20 miles so am looking for company on two weekends (even Henry and I can't walk 20 miles all in one go)!

Oh and when I last checked kind people had donated £20 and we haven't even walked anywhere yet!

Well I've got my ordnance survey map ordered so am going to plan my route once I've got it but it will be somewhere between 10 and 15 miles and there will be 2 of us walking it.

Started collecting sponsors yesterday and so far I have £175!!

Because my step-dad is a techno-weeble, I have asked him to make me a speadsheet where I can put people's names, how far they are going to walk and how much they raise - then the total amount of money will tot itself up and the total amount walked will count down from 874 miles to 0

When the walk takes place will we be starting where others have finished like say if someone finished walking at peterborough Id start at peterborough and walk 10miles then someone else would start the same day or the next day from where I finished and walk another 10miless?
 
I work somewhere different every day! So that's new people to ask for sponsorship every working day of the week! Started today and got £15 already! I also enlisted a client to walk with me and my friend. I organised a 10 mile pleasure ride a couple of years ago for our Riding Club, so might use the same route, only problem is it doesn't involve a pub! Might have to think again! Will probably go on 8th November. Any other Wiltshire/Dorset/Somerset peeps out there - we're between Warminster and Shaftesbury and would love to see you.

How many people are involved so far? I only ask because there is no way I can walk ten miles; I found that out last week. Neither hip is up to it. How is the walking going to be monitored for the purpose of donating?
 
I need to tot up the numbers. As far as distance goes, you can go as far as you like as ten miles is a long way and not everyone will be able to manage that.

We are doing this based on good old honesty - I have no way fo keeping tabs on how far people actually walk but what I am asking people to do is to email me with their distance and I will trust them.

Also photos would be nice so we can show people what we did!
 
Can I donate this time. Im sure the collie would be up for ten miles but with a ten week old pup to carry Im not sure I can manage it!!
 
Photos are a good idea. Will def try and take some before exhaustion sets in. Agree it is a good idea to try and get an idea of numbers, I think there will be 4 maybe 5 of us walking, to start things off. We are doing a a walk that is just over 10 miles
