A few of you may have read my post on two bridleways groups in my area, and my attempt to try and get a safe permissive route is now ensuing....yes I did contact TROTS so I should be shot yada yada....yawn. Well, this will make your hair curl...one of the groups tried to get a meeting arranged for this coming saturday cancelled. Meeting had been arranged a month in advance and they try to cancel a meeting to which they have been INVITED!!!! Secondly, I get a garbled message on my mobile, and when I did get hold of the blue rinse jam maker, she told me in no uncertain terms that livery yards should not be permitted in areas where there is no suitable hacking....WE ARE JUST OVER A MILE FROM IT!!!! How local do you have to be to be local???? On the piggin doorstep??? Finally, they cannot put in permissive hacking routes for a "few" riders....there are 20 of us at our yard plus all the other people who live on the Bristol side of the hill. To add insult to injury....all the hacking we want a permissive route to is ...yep you guessed it....PERMISSIVE!!!!! And I have just discovered that a committee member on the charity team is planning to start her own B&B business to use all this permissive hacking that "she is soley repsonsible for having been made available". Oh yes and it is all on her doorstep. Now then...here's the rub...tehy will tell us that we need to be members, so what is the difference between paying them a membership fee on a yearly basis for no hacking, and paying a (ok higher) fee to TROTS for hacking??? Where would you put your money????

Our fantastic livery yard, is part of a DEFRA diversification supported farm. All the intructors that visit sing its praises. The Y.O. is fantastic, and I can sleep safely in bed knowing that there is no way my pony can be harmed or stolen, unlike some of the places I have been to as recommended by the B&B'er. And if the worst should happen and it has, one phone call and everything is taken care of with no fuss or complaint about lack of notice.

Where abouts in Somerset are you? We have 3 bridleways but one of the people living next to one of the bridleways shouts at us for using it and tries to block it. Another one has a sign up saying 'this is private property belonging to X farm' which is not true.

I don't quite understand what is going on here. They sound like a bunch of idiots!
