And now I’m aching!

Was XC schooling yesterday with TwigBen on Naomi (Sal_E’s old horse) and Naomi was jumping all the massive 3ft plus fences, and I decided that me and Bodey’s could do that, ummm no we couldn’t!

It was totally my fought (sp?), I pushed him to far, have to remember I’m riding a 5 year old cob, not an eventer! He just jumps so well that I got lured into a false sense of security.
Anyway we parted company, bless him Bodey just stopped and looked at me. I got straight back on, jumped over the little tyres and stuck to my 2ft6 XC jumps, lesson learner!! We aren’t ready to play with the big boys yet!

There will be loads of photos on Wednesday when our photographer (we had someone come with us that has a posh camera) downloads them for me.

I just felt so gutted with myself yesterday for pushing him too far. But he jumped everything else fab so must concentrate on that!

So just had to tell you guys, please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks they are invincible!?!

Everone makes mistakes, so long as it hasn't knocked Bodey's confidence (or yours!) and he's still ok to jump, he should be fine.
Who knows, when he's older, you may be jumping those 3ft fences!!

And yes, sometimes I think I'm invincible too.

It doestake a few reminders to mae you realise you're not

No it didn’t seem to knock Bodey’s confidence luckily, but that’s no thanks to me, he just puts up with his stupid Mum!! We did loads of jumps afterwards.
We did do our first jump into water yesterday though so I was well chuffed with that. Any problem is that I couldn’t get him back out of the water, he just loves it!

Oh poor you - but dont beat yourself up about it, Bodey carried on jumping well afterwards, so it obviously hasnt put him off, and as long as you can put it behind you, then no damage done.
You and Bodey are doing so well together, this was just a little blip.

hope your feeling better soon! you won't have knocked his confidence as he continued to jump in his comfort zone afterwards and the fact that you falling off was a new experience for him and he just stood there and didnt take fright and run off shows what a fab boy he is. chalk it up to experience and carry on, bodes has probably already forgotten about it ! you two are a great combination.

Oh thanks Ottinmeg, I’m so glad Bodey didn’t hold it against me! It confirmed something though, that horse has given my loads and loads of confidence!!

Oh hun dont beat yourself up you two were jumping so well afterwards it really didnt matter - he wasnt bothered by the experience! Hey all the best riders have to fall off and we all make mistakes - as long as we learn from them, then it is a good experience not a bad one - no harm done! He's such a water baby bless him wish Niomi enjoyed the water as much!

Dont worry about it! I did exactly the same with bob out schooling once! He wasnt bothered at all!!

You will soon get there
