I used to ride bareback loads but when I got Andy the only time he was comfortable enough to ride bareback was out to the field so I haven't had a good schooling session bareback until I got Louie.
Quite often when I lunge him I jump on him bareback after with the lunge cavesson but because I'm inbetween saddles atm I have no way of riding him. So the other day was the first time I rode him in a bridle bareback and schooled. He was wicked! I loved riding him. Canter is a little hairy as I know he likes to do handstands when we canter so I didn't want to push him so the canter shot is rubbish and I'm clinging onto the neckstrap.
If I could compete him bareback I probably wouldn't even bother buying a saddle.
