Blimey, he was hard to hold back - he even had a big gallop chasing the lab - I nearly fell off I was so shocked

Anyone else's horses feeling the grass and spring in the air ?

Well I hate having to "use" the hackamore, but I needed it today. He would not trot, it had to be canter. Totally out of character ! And this is with a muzzle on and soaked hay !

We are on limited turnout, litterally down to two days a week at the moment. I own a TB .. say no more  Even my sharer who is an awesome rider wont take him out at the moment because he is being such a bell end!

I feel your pain :(

Spring is definitely in the air. I'm enjoying the horses being full of fun as winter has been such a dark and soggy one. Heck, it's perfect, cool enough to run, no flies and horse's aren't stuffed with grass.

Well Pie is general very well mannered on the lunge and never does airs above the ground..... However when I lunged him last week, I asked him to canter and he responded by squealing, leaping in the air and cantering off with his tail up like an Arab (he's a proper Irish bogtrotter, believed to be ID/TB/cob). Looked so funny - in 12 years I've never seen him do that before!

Lazy 4 year old cobble was having a bit of a hissy in the arena last night when she was loose. So I decided to let her have a run about and not bother about riding. My mum was shocked at the least as this mare rarely goes above a fast walk in the arena haha

yep, one of ours decided to have a hoolie with daughter on board, finishing off with a few good bucks for the fun of it and depositing daughter on floor. Wasnt so much fun for him when I got on board to remind him in no uncertain terms that there is a time and place for such antics and one of those times was not with my daughter on board. That took the spring out of his step...

Last week I got a gallop out of my mare that literally took my breath away, I'd forgotten she could go so fast, she's not done that for a long, long time. Once I got over the shock I was glad that she's feeling so well!

Oh yes, ours have been on the sprightly side for a few weeks now.The girls had a lesson today, and new boy decided to tank over the jumps at a gallop then tried to buck.Luckily my daughter sat up,pulled his head up and circled him until he ran out of steam.I was very proud of her,a few months ago she would have cried and lost her confidence.Today she dealt with him calmly and made him jump again at the speed she dictated.

Knobberpony is positively rocket powered,I don't think I've seen her move so fast.Youngest has an electric bum at the best of times, but today was something else.

My welsh D disgraced me today - a friend borrowed him so she could ride him and take her sharer on a hack. He was an absolute ball bag. He's usually a bit cheeky but nothing bad, however she said he was a nightmare. I've been on nights this week so he's not been ridden for 3 days, plus I think he's feeling very fit at the moment and therefore demonstrated his best sideways dressage moves down the road for her.

I shall be having words tomorrow the little horror!

I am trying to make sure I bring Shy back with a bit of sweat on him, weight control thing - I just don't need to try too hard ! He puts in a little "swerve" at canter if a pheasant pops out of the hedge, so I have to talk very loudly to let them know he is coming.

yesterday we had a massive spook (for Shy), which involved a truly horrible invisible thing - he turned round and ran for his life, then SNORTED when he was made to go past.
