Well, I cant belieeeeve it ! We have been on the list for a Setter rescue for ages, and they have had no dogs in at all, which is good for them. So we decided to go to a shelter and find a little bitza as we really missed having a dog. Today I have had a message from the Setter bods, they have a dog for us. Cant take it now, at least until new doggie gets settled in and we all get used to each other. Absolutely typical isnt it !

Lol, that is bloody typical, but nice the little x got a home with you, im sure they could help each other settle in

Typical!

I know what you mean about not getting quite what you had in mind, I went looking for a greyhound or a lurcher and came home witha cocker spaniel. Wouldn't swap him though!

same here,

i asked at all the local vets etc for a small /med male dog less than 6 months old any type........

you would think i would be killed in the rush right?

nothing - zero - sod all

so eventually i get a **cocker spaniel (sort off) pup from an advert, cheap to good home needs to go sort of thing & just 2 days later 3 calls from vets with urgent re-homes to take......megga sods law

** unregistered no proof cocker spaniel, 3 month old male terrified of kids especially girls?, nervous of women, scared of almost everything else too, there is a history there if we could but know it.
now he is 1 year old, nuts and a compulsive laundry pincher cat poo snaffler, who is fine with the world even small girls.

Well new doggie arrived yesterday, and apart from cr**ping in the car, necessitating an emergency stop on the A20 as OH heaving his lunch up at the smell, has behaved beautifully. I cant believe it, he has not barked, chewed, and slept downstairs quite happily on his own, even though I left the doors open so he could come upstairs if he wanted, walks nicely on a lead. Is very finicky about food, but considering he is a border collie cross is quite laid back. This could be the calm before the storm though as hes probably a bit stressed and tired through being in kennels. Maybe I can go back on the setter rescue list in a few months.
