Last night, early evening, a trailer was stolen from our yard from a locked compound next to a paddock. The t...s detached it from the vehicle it was hitched up to, dragged it across the ground by hand, somehow hitched it to a waiting vehicle and dragged it down a 2ftish drop. In order to get down the drop they took down a dry stone wall and demolished the electric fencing on the other side. It was then towed through another paddock and off they went. Its an Ifor Williams one and did have a wheel lock on. Not only did they steal the trailer, they also smashed the windows front and back on the drivers side of the car. In daylight its unbelievable the trouble they have gone to with the wall to get the trailer. Also astounding is the time of night it was stolen, people coming and going to the yard.

Please check your security, I know they will get something if they really want it but it pays to be vigilant. The owner of the said trailer has a contact at the ferry ports and has asked them to watch out for it.

Just thought you all might appreciate this info as not everyone looks in Stolen forum.

Whereabouts are you?

Makes me glad I've got an old Rice! They won't give mine a second look when there are Ifor's and Bateson's parked alongside it.

Yard is in Mirfield, West Yorks. Its not nice to think that theres been thieves on the premises. I see to my horse at night on way home from work and for the first time tonight I was a little bit nervous as all others gone home by the time I get there at 8.30.

Was even spookier tonight with the wind and rain. Someone had left a light on and though I knew I shouldnt have gone to check it out I did,, thankfully I think the owner had forgotten to turn it off. Dogs patrol the premises but am guessing that the thieves struck when its busy so any noise perhaps covered with horses and comings and goings of owners. Compound is slightly out of way so not easy to see if anyone up to mischief. Sickening for the owner of the trailer, shes very upset.

Nothing surprises me with these thieving scumbags any more. Things like this are really unsettling, we had it happen to us a few years ago and I still remember the sick feeling now when we got to the yard the following morning.
