Well yesterday me and Major went off to Cotswold Farm park Funride!
It was all a bit of an un-known quantity really, i didn't know if he's go on the lorry, if he's travel okay, if he'd be okay when we un-loaded, if he'd be a psycho on the way round, if he'd jump... however i am glad to announce the pony is a superstar!!
He went straight on the lorry without any hesitation, stood munching hay all the way there (you can see the horses from the cab in this lorry), was a little worked up when he first came off the lorry but let me tack him up, get on etc all fine. He was so good all the way round, i didn't push him to hard over fences as he's only a baby and pretty in-experienced over fences so i wanted to leave room for mistakes over fences small enough that it didn't matter. But he popped over logs, tyres, a little wall and a few little coffins etc, so i'm over the moon with him for his first time ever seeing a xc fence! He did get a bit strong about half way through so may re-think the snaffle he's in, maybe a different mouthpiece/action. I think he really enjoyed it though and he was easy to do when we got back, and went straight on the lorry again.
Couldn't ask for anything more from him really, hopefully this time next year we'll be popping some of the bigger stuff
Un-fortunately i didn't jump the photographers jump as it was a decent log quite early on and i didn't want to push him that early, and she does seem to of completely missed us and not actually got any photos but nevermind! Here are a few of my own!
Ready to go...
And afterwards, he really didn't look like he'd just done a fast 12miles!
And back home with his first ever rossie!!
Getting ready for bed!
And tucked up in bed!
He now has all week to get fat whilst i swan off to centre parcs!
