''Talking of new staff I did receive the following email from somebody applying for the position.
Dear Mr Bailey, or can I call you Kimbeley,
I see you are on the lookout for stable staff - well I have always fancied a job petting horses. that is not all my experience, oh no, I once rode a pony at a fun fair in Wales, and my old granddad once had a rag and bone round in Derbyshire.
I see you have a friendly yard which is great as I tend to be a little grumpy so that will even things out nicely. Also I weigh about 19 stone but that wont matter as I am sure you can strap 2 horses together for me to ride.
Any hoo, look forward to hearing from you, by the way I cant start just yet as I will lose all my disability benifits, so you will have to make it worth my while wages wise ( cash would be best).
Cant wait to live in the Cotswolds, My application for sheltered accommodation is being processed, so I should know in 4-6 weeks.
PS - do you provide biscuits at coffee time?
I of course took her application seriously and replied by emailing the following.
Oh please call me Kimbeley. Nobody else does.
You sound just the ideal person to work for us as we love the welsh and my horses are very strong; as for sheltered accommodation dont panic as we have some tents left over from when the Argentine polo staff were billeted here; I will have them washed for your arrival.
We dont serve biscuits at coffee breaks but chocolate cake.. you should like that. ....I Await your arrival date .''
