Tomorrow, my coloured will make his first debut at County Show level at Lincolnshire Show! *BEAMING* :D

I am everso excited, but everso anxious at the same time eeeek! He is 3 years old, and will be competing inhand in the non native coloured youngstock class, and non native coloured class (open age). I do not expect he will be a 'patch' on the pro's 'coloureds', but hey ho, it's all great experience for us both, and I will be so proud if he behaves well in the ring. A big ask, for a young horse, at a big show, I know, but fingers crossed he takes it in his stride!

Is anyone else going? Are you competing? Spectating? xx :)

Good luck!

I work in a school so can't get the time off.....my son is off with his dad though, he won't stop to look at the 'osses...it'll be the cars, tractors and other stuff for him!

:D

Unfortunately can't go this year. Daughter was to parade hounds on her horse with our hunt, but she has a Biology GCSE exam - I know which she would rather have done.

And then I am working on Thursday and OH is in Scotland so not this year unfortunately.

Good luck with your coloured horse.

Thank you very much for the good luck vibes - I will need them LOL! The schedule says my classes start at around 3:30 p.m. eeek!

Oh bless Hovis, I will keep my eye out for him! How exciting for him. Has he got his party outfit ready? :D

Good luck to everyone else that is competing, I hope you do well. Gutted for those of you who can't make it. I've got the news on, and I have just seen Lincolnshire Showground getting ready eeeek! xx

I would like to go but will be at work both days. Family will be there but not horsey at all, they will be visiting farming friends.
Just hope I can get to work with all the extra traffic.

Craig

An hour to go and then hopefully success for you. Currently drinking wine and keeping out of the rain x

Ah thank you.... well, there were some showers today believe me! At one point the heavens opened, and I took refuge in a shops tent and bought a new rug for the cow pony to keep him dry for the show.

Classes were running an hour and half late, and by the end of a long day, the cow pony had had enough! He got 6th in the open age non native coloured class, and 5th in the youngstock non native coloured class. The classes were not overly packed - a few people must have been scared off by the weather!

I am super happy with how today went, especially with the weather and delays, I think he did really well at such a big show. Bless him! xx

Well done I had to leave just as you were going in. I watched the hacks, I don't suppose you were concentrating on spectators but I was in you waiting area by the fence wearing a flower maxi dress and talking to the winner of the hack class. :)

Btw they are talking about it being a 3 day show next year to include a Saturday but the farmers are not to happy about it

Well done - that's great and what an experience for your horse.

Well done! Clever Cow pony. Is the great yorkshire show still on on the thurs? I may pop in, sometimes get thurs off work. Would be good to see Rox in action :)

Thank you very much sweet! You will have to come pop over at some point again - he is growing up fast! Great Yorkshire is 12th - 14th July. I'm there on the 12th, which is the Tuesday.... I think you should pull a sicky off work LOL! xx :D

I saw the hack class just ending, but in all honesty I wasn't paying overly much attention to them as they came out I am afraid. Perhaps if I saw you, I may recognise you. I will post a photo shortly of the boy, and see if you saw us!

I think it is lovely they want to extend the show dates - it is an amazing show - I wonder why the farmers aren't happy with it? xx

Check out the hunter behind the hedge - s/he makes Rox look like a tiny pony... he's 15hh!

....and one for comedy value... Rox knackered after a long day showing, and my bay Sammi, not wanting him to lay down and roll - Sammi wanted to play!!

I remember him :) what did he make of the young farmers tractors. The hacks were complaining !!

He coped fine with that - I keep him on a farm, and he associates tractors with food, as the farmer puts large hay bails out in the winter with his John Deere.

He wasn't keen on the seating area - especially the one where it faced the opposite ring, as when they clapped, he couldn't see them. When the hunters thundered past, he got abit giddy and launched into the air! The photographer has got an awesome photo of that exact moment - however, it looks like he has jumped into the air to look over the hedge at the hunters lol! xx
