Hate to say it but if I were selling, unless we'd alreaady discussed it I would expect you to bring head-collar and travel boots when you came to collect
Me too - will clearly need everything new as doubt your sparky pony stuff will fit him how big is he?
Also best advise= buy quality - its expensive at the time but it will last a whole lot longer - weve still got FalPro NZ rugs that are over 10yrs old and in perfect working order!

I thought it was traditional to get a headcollar when you buy a horse. Generally its a crappy one that has seen better days!
Cheap websites = Equestrian Clearance, Discount Saddlery (Hey Farm), Surrey Equestrian etc.
I would only buy Rambo, Fal or Premier Equine turnouts personally. OMG I am SOOOOO jealous, I can't wait to get my new horse and go on a shopping spree (but I need a job first!!)
Have fun!

Yay horsey shoping for new ponies is very very fun!! I've had Blue nearly 2 months now and still discovering so many things he 'needs'!!! Atm i'm looking at winter rugs as going to need them any day...let me know if you find any bargins anywhere
Re: the headcollar: We once got a horse in to sell wearing a headcollar that had belonged to a horse (his name plate was on it) my boss had sold literally years before, from people that had no connection at all to the first horse. We also had the most extraordinary collection of REALLY ugly halters that had come with horses - it was always a bit of fun to choose one for an outgoing beast.
Also recommend the buying for quality, although rugs and such are a bit of a trick when you don't have him to try them on yet so I'd wait for that.
Otherwise, check with his people now to see if there is anything particular he uses - it's always annoying to go through fitting a ton or rugs/bits/boots etc and then find out you end up with the same ones as fit him originally.
Congratulations - love him in the pics on your other post.
Saddle, bridle, bit, rugs, boots...the list goes on. Don't despair of some pony stuff fitting. My 14.2 and 16.2 wore some of the same boots, travel boots, numnahs etc.
I have some HW rambos ready to go on ebay v soon, give me a shout when you know his rug size..
i would just get the basics, and then see how much money you have left!
nice GP saddle that fit
bridle
numnah/s
girth
boots
headcollor
fleeces
and good quality winter rugs
did you keep any of sparkys rugs? i know your new boy is going to be much bigger, but my 16.2 wears 6'6" and is squeezed into 5'6-9" fleeces etc, and they are fine
Our new boy came with a name, and nothing else! Actually, not even that, officially - on his IHR passport he's still registered as "foal 123456" how sad, especially as he's now ten! When I have a spare 50 euros,I'll name him, better late than never, although IHR informs me "his" name has gone.A bit odd to have one name on BE,BD,BSJA etc and completely different one on passport!
Have fun shopping! If Someone Else is paying the bills, treat him gently - our bank manager hasn't recovered yet! In answer to the numerous questions -"does he REALLY need X,Y,Z?" the answer was always "Absolutely!"
