The missing horse on military land has been found

The MOD at the range claimed that they couldnt shut the range down for an immediate search, which is frankly a nonsense.Because the search was delayed by people sitting on their hands, snow obliterated the horses trail.A sad ending for Zimbabwe, What if a child had wandered in?Is this range really under adequate supervision?

I only know of this horse, from what I've read on this thread. It is, as you say, a sad ending. It should be understood that the MOD ranges are vast, and to mount a full search, which would almost certainly have included helicopters, would have cost a fortune. Justifiable in the case of a human, but not for a horse.

I think that the MOD would take the view that the care and containment of the horse was the responsibility of the owner, not there's. Supervising ranges would be quite impossible, in my view. Does anyone know how the horse gained his freedom? A sad ending, indeed, but that's about it...........

Alec.

He dumped his rider while being exercised on Camber Sands, & then ran on to the range.

The trainer was taken up by private helicopter the following week I think. The MOD wouldn't let them on the range at the time.
