Over the hill and far awa
Took the Appy and my sisters new big girl out on quite a long hack today. The appy was not on her best behaviour
and insisted on going backwards on the busiest road we go on. This makes me cross, however it gives my sister the heeby jeebies, which I think the appy knows. After two sharp smacks with the schooling whip, followed up by pony club kicks she got her act together, we did still go sideways a bit, but that is unfrtunately the norm for her.
The big girl would not join in the naughty games and looked a bit shocked about it all. We passed, or were passed by three different pairs of motorcycles and a bus, numerous white vans and a builders pick up. All on roads that the big girl had not been on before. She did seem a bit surprised as the bus came past her, but never put a foot wrong. All drivers were good today, but we were so impressed at how the big girl coped with all the new sights, sounds and smells. The only thing she did do a bit wrong, was end up cantering up a steep road
This is such a small road it feels like a track, and so steep we always let them trot if they feel the need, however some-one strimming in their garden was just the excuse the big girl needed to go up a gear. She caem back down to walk again when asked and me and sister were hysterical with laughter at our irresponsibility!
Sorry for the long self-indulgence, but felt the need to share just how good the new girl is. Plus the previous owner is a member here and we are keeping in touch with her
