In October 2012, I tragically lost my horse of a lifetime to colic and although I still had his companion- my semi retired tbx Smithie, who is my best friend and who got me through- I sort of lost my mojo for riding and I didn't think I would find another horse that had that something special, ever again. I occasionally browsed the for sale sites but nothing jumped out at me until....
....May 2014, when I saw an advert for an unusual American Saddlebred x Welsh D gelding (by Premier Color) advertised. I dithered for a while and eventually discussed his advert with the lovely lady who bred the horse I had lost. She talked me into making contact. Howie was in the Northwest of England- over 500miles away from me and arranging to travel to view him was no easy task from Shetland! It took 3 months before I got to go and meet him (his owner very kindly withdrew his advert until I could meet him as she says she had a good feeling about me) but I got to spend 7 hours on the yard with them and Howie and I decided we kinda liked each other. He arrived in Shetland 3 weeks ago and has not put a hoof wrong since. He is cheeky, OTT, playful and very in your face (typical Saddlebred!) but he has a heart of gold and is a dream to handle and ride. He has rekindled my love of riding and my little horse family is back to how it once was- I am truly blessed
