Has anyone got them, or seen them in the shops?

I want to get my lad some knee boots for hacking and am not confident with the skeleton type as I think they might slip down on him. I've seen the Westropp ones and my friend has lent me her old pair to try out...........I've been searching online and have found that Caldene are now producing similar ones, a little bit more expensive but I really like the look of them.

Wondered if anyone has any opinions before I splash out £40 on something I've only seen a picture of online!??? :-/

Thanks

Thats v cheap for westropp ones - i bought them at £35 a pop last time.

I swear by mine, but prefer the older style (it was more rigid than the current one) but they are a bit like gold dust to find on ebay. I'd go for the caldene ones if you prefer them :)

I have some westropp ones sat in a box... cob size.... Im not keen on them and they dont fit my lad well anyway so if anyone wants to put in an offer... ;) They'll be going on ebay I think!

Can I ask why you don't like them? I am in two minds as which ones/sort to get at the moment so all opinions welcome..........

They just don't really fit my lad too well, I can't get them to fasten snuggly enough that I wont have to worry about them slipping, but then he's only got fine legs but pony size would be too short! They'd probably not be too bad on something with a bit more bone. Plus they seem rather bulky (maybe again due to him having skinny little legs!) so they just don't work for us!

Naturally - they're the cheapest I could find, nowhere else seemed to have them under £40!

Porkie - I can totally see why they wouldn't work on a finer boned horse/pony. The horse I am using them on is the bay in my singature - and she has a good ol' set of legs lol! They looked very bulky until I put them on and they fit perfectly, but I wouldn't have wanted them any bigger, but as I said I haven't actually tried them out yet either.
