As some of you know I have been having a lot of difficulty hacking my ex racer out alone. But I am just super pleased with him at the moment I have hacked him out two days in a row on two slightly new hacks and he has been (almost) foot perfect.
Forum user Littlemisslauren came to visit the boys on monday and tuesday. On tuesday we hacked him out with my olide Ed and we only had one minor hiccup with S on the way back home. We had stopped to swop horses and S decided he didn't want to wait for LML to get on Ed, que spinning around trying to take me home.
Other than that we had a pretty good hack, LML has now fallen in love with my two boys especially little Edwina bless him he is such a super hairy star.
I think the hack out with Ed has given him some confidence. I hacked him out alone yesterday on a route that he enjoys but then went a different way off this route through an estate he hasn't been through. Then down a long road which leads into the village next to mine, did a little circle around there then back the same way. He was perfect didn't have a single issue with him at all he also stopped looking at the man eating road grates/gutters.
Went out the way that we went yesterday (including the new route) then added another new section to it and again he was good as gold. We had one stop and spin around at a junction (on the regular route) no apparent reason for it tbh but he soon carried on, it was nothing compared to how he used to be. On the new route he was perfect but coming down through the villiage where we always hack through he had two little spooks. One was caused by a dog running out of a garden behind him. The other was a guy on a very noisy hairdryer getting right up his back end who came out of nowhere. GRR.
I do appologise for this long post but I feel we have really turned a corner with him and he is improving a lot. I am hoping to get him down to uni asap and then we will see how he goes there, hopefully he will not revert back to his old behaviour.
I am so proud of him!
Thanks for reading.
