Sage has now removed all but 2 staples!! I remove the collar during the day but have to watch her like a hawk. I went to open the gate for hubby and when I came back they had gone.
The wound has almost healed but she has now decided to completely flip and it started to ooze blood a bit.
Spoke to vet who said keep her quiet.....ermmm how exactly? So now can't do anything but sit and watch the cowbag. Tried to cover it but again she went crazy, apparently I am not allowed anywhere near it!!
OK whinge over back to dog watch. :(

Heaves a huge sigh and hangs head in embarassed shame. :o Definitely a case of heart ruling head and lesson well and truly learned!! Think we got away with it this time though.

Do be firm with the basta...er, I mean the buster collar.

I nearly went round the twist about this time last year but the only time he EVER had it off his neck was when he was eating and even then sometimes I just fed him by hand.
Think about it in the long term, yes, it might piss her off but it will be worse if she keeps having to make repeat trips to the vet.

Can you dope her? Teach her a few new things to keep her occupied? We did a fortnight of hide and seek, or 'find the yummy thing I hid'.

Now the staples are out vet has said just put the collar on at night to stop excessive licking. There's nothing left for her to pull out now. The 2 that are left are at the very top and very bottom so not really holding anything together.
I now know we cannot tust her at all so next time, as I'm sure there will be with her crappy legs, it's a collar 100% of the time.
Anyway Cayla has said she will have her so not my problem.....I wish!! :D
