Malaga is in the Uk now, I have just seen pictures of her on a site and doesnt she look lovely, does not look like the same horse that started off the whole "debate" about french horses and she was also the reason that a lot of ggod work was done amongst the negativity

Thank God she looks so well.

Welcome little one and may you have a very happy life in England.

I will try and get some pics up on here for all to see as I remember alot of people who asked for updates on her.

Glad to finally have an update that she's doing well after such a long time.

That's taken, what, 6 months of recuperation before she was deemed fit enough to make the journey?

Poor thing, just shows what a horrific state she was really in when she was discovered

- thank heavens ERF brought her plight to everybody's attention here.

Whether she looks well or not, the underlying issues on "rescuing" from france remain the same.
We have enough welfare cases in the uk, and plenty of animals needing secure homes, but by importing these meat animals you are sadly reducing the chances of our own animals gaining permanent homes.
Thats before we start mentioning the dieseses these french horses could possibly bring over.
Sorry, but there it is.

Whilst I 100% agree with your sentiments - I don't believe that Malaga was a meat pony, merely one of many youngsters in a dealers yard with an uncertain future.

It's really good to hear that the little lass is now fit and well. And I most certainly wish her the very, very best for the future.

I hope that she is placed in an excellent home, with no thought of her being sold in the future as many of them are.

I would love to see pic of her 6 months on, I hope her journey was stress free.

I have PS - and she does look very, very well indeed. A total transformation from the emaciated pony we saw in the hell hole of the 'Safe Haven'.

AM you put it better than I ever could....

Good that she is now doing well, just proves they can recover if given enough time. Look at the recent pictures of some of the poor ponies from James Grays, it is hard to believe they are the same animals.

Yes, you wouldn't actually believe that some of them are the same horses would you?

Malaga looks fantastic and had a great journey. Yep she definately looks a different horse. Well done to those responsible for her care in France, you've done a great job.

Sorry to sound rude, but ERF hardly brought her plight to the attention of here or anywhere else!
I have asked someone to post before and after pics of her on here as there is some question as to whether or not the pony they claimed was Malaga was actually her.... That however is another story.
There has also been much plotting and stirring of pots in a bid to "free" Malaga from her cruel home in France...
To be honest I would much rather the words Malaga and ERF are not mentioned in the same sentence.

I dont think she was a meat pony either, I am with you on that one.
I would however be careful about throwing around accusations of selling on. As you and the other harpies are aware none are sold on with the organisation that Malaga is staying with, they are rehomed under an adoption contract, very different I would say and I am sure you would agree.

No not odd, Malaga is a word that brings thoughts of happiness and well being, ERF is something that makes me think of doom, gloom and bullying

Actually, I don't know that at all - hence my statement. I don't believe for one minute that every animal coming through any of these centres is placed under contract.

But that's a whole other issue.

Once again, I hope that Malaga is placed in only the very best of homes - with no intention that she should ever be passed on.

I didnt say any of these centres, I am talking only about the one I know about. I know for a fact that these horses are placed in homes that are checked, references taken and a nominal rehoming fee.

Malaga, as you know has been owned by someone for a long time, so why would she be rehomed?

Ah, so Venus still ownes her? That's wonderful. Does she have the funds now to keep her? As I remember what a stuggle it was for her initially.

I thought it all depended on who bought the horse for example if I bought one and had it shipped over then I could sell as I saw fit rather than keeping in a forever home.

I am pleased she will not be sold on & hope she goes to someone who will give her 100% knowledgeable love and care.... As for ERF yes they did highlight her plight at the SH

Yes in one sense you are right.
If you, I or indeed Joe Bloggs goes onto one of the sites and reserves a horse/pony then of course it is up to the individual what they decide to do with it, although one would hope that they would keep the animal.
If for instance one of the sites is bringing them over than it is obviously up to them what they decide to do.
The site that was involved with the whole Malaga issue rehomes under contract.

Sorry, I also meant to add M.G and forgot that her plight in France is still as yet an allegation as there is no proof that she was indeed the pony in question.
I would be grateful if that was kept in mind when talking about her and her "plight"

How can there be any doubt that they are the same pony???? You certainly had no doubt at the time the safe haven photos were put up, or in any other subsequent conversations that took place either online, via email or on the phone.

Now you're just being daft. C'mon - do you think any of us were born yesterday?

Not to worry FtF - I'm quite sure somebody somewhere will have a copy of the pics posted here and everybody can compare and make up their own mind as to whether it's the same pony.

And as for requesting that 'the words Malaga and ERF are not mentioned in the same sentence', well, unless somebody re-writes the history books (or provides proof that ERF's Malaga and your Malaga are not the same) that's just a cross you're going to have to bear.
grin.gif

ETA - but then IF your Malaga is not the same as ERF's Malaga - why on earth did you start this thread with the comment

and doesnt she look lovely, does not look like the same horse that started off the whole "debate" about french horses and she was also the reason that a lot of ggod work was done amongst the negativity

Which rather suggests that she is

Surely if it was not the same horse then there would be no need for updates or changes??

I would really like you to prove she is not the same horse... So can you post your pictures of her at the SH around 6 months ago????
