Im having a rubber mat/ Eva overload.

Whats your setup?

I have a 16.2 quite mobile chunky horse and would like some mats that are slightly comfier than the hard rubber mats. (12/18mm style)

There are soooo many on the market but Im worried they'll move loads and have decided that the 7kg (Ark mats etc) ones are probably too light so am looking for a slightly heavier version that's still comfy.

Equine plus have some that are 13kg which sound better.. Anyone ever bought any from them??

Basically im trying to get a cheaper version of the Mayo mattress as I just cant spend that much on a stable unless I just put those at the back and cheaper rubber at the front?? Can you do that and them not move??

IDEAS PLEASE? HELP!!

I have 34mm arkmats in one stable - wall to wall.
In the other stable I have 44mm Mayo mats at the front and some cheap stuff at the back which is covered with bedding. I don't find that they move, they are all wedged in. That horse is a boxwalker in the extreme so she really tested it :D

I'm really pleased with all of them, I'll never go back to heavy rubber mats. Have had these for quite a few years and they've been through several yard moves so have been chopped about a bit to fit different stables... still stay put though :)

Thank you!

Maybe Ive got the wrong idea putting the thinner stuff at the front I was just thinking less bedding needed at the back!
I may go for Ark Mats then, they are more in my price range as I have a 14x14 stable!!
Do you think theyd be ok for a bit of a bit of a wanderer? Hes not too extreme just nosey, so goes to the front fairly regularly to see whats going on :D

I have foam mats and although they do not cover the whole floor, the box is 16x12 they move very little. I bed where they lie and just have mats where they walk and poo. One poos along the back wall so all I have to do is shovel and sweep.
I have had bonded thick rubber mats which I spent a to of money on and I did not like them as much.

yeah my welsh who has the mayo mats/cheap mats combo has really put hers to the test, she has separation anxiety so basically just runs round her box when I'm riding my other horse :( after several years she's scuffed the top of the mats but they don't move.

I have the interlocking mats. They are great, once they are in place there's no movement as it's almost like one mat. I've a 16.1 IDx and the mats don't move no matter what antics she tries.
