I never ever thought it was possible to hate a dog, but I do!

He is my mother in laws Lhasa Apso. He is the most grotesque creature, his manners are appauling, he's viscious and nasty and not a normal dog in the slightest.
If you leave the room he'll bite you
If you touch the bin when he's near it he'll bite you
If you touch the dishwasher he'll bite you
If you smack him for being naughty he'll bite you
If you remove burrs/sticks from his coat he'll bite you

He is awful and I hate him. Please feel free to add any dogs you hate lol

Ha he'd be a match for Caesar!
TBH he should have been pts when he was born, he's so terribly deformed, but the vet says no pain so she cant even blame it on that! She just never trained it properly.

Love them all.

Well, Stella and I had the misfortune of running into this unpleasant little bugger in Central Park a few years ago (with a minder, not his owner). I can fully understand all the lawsuits he's had against him.

I thought most small dogs were like that!

I know a shih tzu who is just the same as that - I hate him. Every time my dog walks past him he attacks her - goes straight for her face. If I try to pull him off then he goes for me instead. Vile thing - I wouldn't have a little dog if you paid me.

Heck, no. My dinky dog is never any bother to anyone--dog or person. It's entirely to do with rearing. In fact, there are many small dog breeds that are excellent companions, friendly to all, and smart with it.

I had a dog I hated. Got him from the dogs home when he was 9 months old, found out afterwards he'd been sent back 4 times before I got him. He had major socialisation problems and was very difficult. In retrospect I didnt do the right thing when I first got him, which didnt help, but even with all the right strategies in place he was still very difficult. A dog trainer I took him too said he had learning difficulties

I learnt to cope with him by telling myself that his issues were not personally directed at me, were not my fault, and it was just how he was.

I didnt go on holidays the last 2 years I owned him as no one would look after him, and I didnt have the heart to put him in kennels. He was the bane of my life, like a grumpy old relative. I kept joking that when he shuffled off this mortal coil I would replace him with a nice amenable sort. Ironically he lived to be almost 16. He was PTS last September. I cried buckets and still miss him terribly.

Lol..the dogs we get in our rescue with the biggest attitutes are as follows:

Shih-tzu
Lhasa-apso
Westis

critters...mind you the previous owners are no better

Im not rude but get a grip its a dog, if it goes for someone and gets a smack then no its not right to bite someone.

I challenge anyone on here to say they have never smacked their dogs, I bet there are a handful who can honestly say they haven't.

Nooooooooooo!!!!

I think the problem is people in general tend to put up with/ignore certain behaviour (like biting) in little dogs, that they would never allow a big dog to get away with.

Dogs are dogs at end of the day and should be treated as such (whether they are big or small). They all need regular exercise and boundaries.

i cant stand huskys, because the first time i took my 10 week old pup out for a walk a husky who was off the lead went for him and my little Jack ruscle. Luckly he was small so i could pick him up. not tha i could now because ovbiously a GSD is a big dog

I have had a lot of people come up to me and whilst nattering about the dogs they've told me they don't like JRs because they're "nasty ankle biters" - totally not true and once they've met mine they tell me they've never met any as nice as mine. Now that's not me being big headed! That's honestly what they've told me. I've had people tell me how they're not fans of JRs but they like mine. JRs can be a handful and you need to be firm from the word go, it's not the dogs fault it's the handlers.

And if my dog goes for me or another dog it gets a smack. If it goes again it gets scruffed and growled at, that's exactly how it's mother would put it in it's place and is not cruel! I'm the same with the big dogs, they need to know who's boss

It annoys me all these people who pander to their dogs, no wonder there is an increase in problems with regards biting.

Our dogs have all had smacks when they were younger.

The terrier, who (even though I don't like her) has a lovely personality has been seen and heard to growl and childen twice now. Each time she's been picked up by the scruff, eyeballed, told no very strongly and dumped on the ground. She hasn't done it since, we simply don't stand for any rubbish like that.

Interestingly, many people say to us how well behaved our dogs are, they walk to heel off the lead, come when called, and play happily with us, other people and strange dogs. They just happen to know we're higher up the order than them!

I'm with CALA on Lhasas and Shih-tzus for sure!

I love em all - there are some breeds I'm wary of tho. Mainly because the only dogs my dog has been attacked by are collies and JRTs. It's normally the owners fault tho...

I do agree its the owners fault in this case, but grr he does wind me up so!

He is awfully deformed, he walks on the back of his paws and he cant run or go up steps or anything, he should have been pts at birth I think (if the breeder wasn't going to do the neccessary operations he would have needed) he's just a mangled mess of a dog now. Which is quite sad..

Lhasa Apso Im sorry I said I hated you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a typical case of a rotten breeder who bred a dog that clearly had problems, butdidnt have the decency to do the right thing.
Have you ever considered that the dog may be in pain or discomfort due to his physical problems, let alone the psychological ones you know nothing about?
As a owner/breeder of Lhasa apso i find this extremely upsetting, as a breed they are dedicated, loving, intelligent but extremely stubborn, there should be no nastiness within them, I have 18 and my grandchildren adore them and vice versa, they are lovely with the kids, but then again the kids hve been taught to respect them from a young age.
Bad breeding and bad rearing can turn any dog into a horror, i know as i run a training club and see all sorts.
Our biggest problem is the staffs who come in with the obligatory idiot with shaved head and t shirt complete with tattoos, dog roaring its head off and screaming at everything, telling me, "oh theyre all like this" rubbish, theyre nearly all owned by idiots like that!
Yet i cant condemn the breed for owners ignorance, i had two staffs who used to come up and work beautifully off lead, owned by a very sensible lady pensioner who would not tolerate bad behaviour!
Next time you see that Lhasa, look at it with pity for the irresponsible breeder who caused it to be like it is and the owner whos allowed it to become what it is! its a bit like a child really, they will become what you allow them to.
