The parents are going to pitch a fit

I've rang chorley, the lady on the phone is going to get the instructor to have a quiet word about safety x

I phoned also and they are going to talk to her parents. I read out the advert and her details, even about what pets she has, so I think she realises how serious this could be.
Its such a pity as the child has done nothing wrong and I hope she doesn't get into trouble, but better that than what could happen.

I hope so too. The internet hadn't arrived here when I was that age and my own daughter is only two so I've all of this to come, but the 11 year old is just a child. It's up to parents to educate and supervise, although I appreciate you can't watch absolutely everything they do. I'm dreading my daughter reaching that age.

I was the same at that age. I remember when a group of us had been riding six months or so, we must have been about ten. We looked through the paper and found a pony advertised as 'home much more important than price' and the add basically said it would be a token gesture payment. So we called the number and asked how much lol! Not a clue at that point what else to ask but in our heads we could do it! haha crazy kids!

well done, i know if i was that childs parent i would want to be told, way too much information in that advert sadly in this day and age:(

bless her though she sounds so desperate for her own, i was the same and even went and knocked on someones door once to ask if i could just groom their pony, i wouldn't even want my daughter doing that these days:eek:

I used to avidly fill in my form for the annual WH Smith Win-a-pony competition and then watch for the postman holding my winning letter every morning for weeks after I'd posted my entry each year....

Me too. I never won the pony either.

I once won one of the runner up prizes (tickets to HOYS) and was more gutted than if I hadn't won anything - I knew I'd got tantalisingly close :(

Gosh, I remember that too. Yep, guilty of filling out the forms and being full of anticipation. I wonder who did win. Did anyone ever know anyone who did?

A friend I ride with was looking for a new loan horse when she was 15. We got offered one and the chap was happy to pick her up at bus stop so no need to bring parents. She would have choice of a yard full of horses that had competed at badminton, olympic etc and there was a chill out room if she wanted to bring non horsey friends. I spoke to him to advise I would be coming to help select an appropriate horse. When he realised I was an 'adult' he disappeared. There are sadly some freaks out there

Love it! :D

When I was working on my book I did a survey on being pony-mad but ponyless. One woman told me that when she was little she found out that her dad was having an affair and tried to blackmail him into getting her a pony :p

Didn't work, alas.
