Yesterday I took GrayMo to the Scottish Masters as he hadn't been out in a while and it's probably his last show of the season. The day started off not so good. As I was scrubbing Gray's legs by the trailer a voice above me huffed and said 'You've missed a bit' in a really snarky way. I looked up to see a person who I worked with years ago who hates me and literally tried to kill me on numerous occasions by making my horse run sideways across roads in front of buses and lorries. I ignored her but said that no matter what else happened today she was getting beaten!

Role on 3/4 hour and I go to warm GrayMo up. By god I could barely do a circuit of trot in the warm up without someone flagging me down to tell me how elegant/stunning/pretty/long legged/what was he doing with his tongue et al... Now I don't mind people admiring my horse and heck we were standing around waiting on our class for long enough (think 4 hours!!!) Could they not have come and spoke to me then and not when I was trying to work him in?!? Alas not! So a very interrupted warm up and a hyper horse for all the stopping and starting later I give up and head back to the car.

I got the beast ready for his In-Hand class against the aforementioned cowbag and then nearly missed my class because yet another person stopped me to tell me how stunningly handsome he was! I ended up being slightly rude and walking away saying my class was in - which was true! 3 of us started the in-hand, 2 finished. One horse wouldn't stand by itself for the judge and was getting too wound up so they very sensibly took it out of the ring. So that left me and cowbag. Needless to say Gray won by a country mile as her horse had no topline, no muscle tone what so ever, needed a good feed and didn't behave itself very well. She didn't like to be beaten by me :D :D :D You could almost see steam coming out of her ears :D :D :D But she was beaten fair and square!

20mins to get Gray tacked up and warmed up for his ridden class. Again, only 2 of us which is a shame but Gray was on song and performed beautifully even if he was bored out of his skull by the waiting around by this point! The other horse was lovely, well put together, did everything asked of it but lacked schooling and a sparkle. So needless to say Gray won that class too and was thus then crowned Ex-Racer Champion and got a lovely big sash. When the judge asked if he would wear it you could almost see Gray roll his eyes and put it on himself! Of course Gray will wear a sash! He is a gay American supermodel! The judge then proceeded to keep me in the ring for a further 10mins telling me how wonderful and stunning and gorgeous he is. You would think you would never get tired of people telling you how wonderful your horse is but it got to the stage where I wished I had taken a boring beach donkey that blended in with the crowd!

We didn't stay for the Supreme as we hadn't planned on being there as late as we were anyway and it's a good job too! They got a piper to pipe the Champions into the ring! The last time GrayMo heard bagpipes they were piping the jockeys out of the weighing room at Perth Races! I suspect we may have provided everyone with some unplanned entertainment had we stayed!

Anywho! A couple of pics if you got this far!

I don't know why my hat ALWAYS sits to one side! It feels perfectly straight when on and if I straighten it in a mirror it squints itself again!

This is what I had to deal with the day before ... In dire need of a bath me thinks!

Well done and lovely photos. Wonder why so poorly supported though lots of hanging around from the signs of it. My grey ROR gets upset if at least one person per hack doesn't stop to say how pretty he is - it's a grey thing !
