The Pessoa pony saddle hunt draws a blank - any suggestions?

our homebred 12.2hh by Tiny Tim X out of A's 13.2hh New Forest JA pony mare is 5yo this month and currently being ridden away after being backed and left off after the winter. Our younger 8yo son is looking forward to beginning his partnership with her, something he'll build over the summer with pony club and educational experiences for both of them.

However, I cannot for the life of me find a Pessoa pony saddle in a medium for sale anywhere. I would prefer not to buy new but the urgency to find one is increasing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)
 
Don't have a pessoa saddle to fit but just wanted to say how beautiful she is. I used to compete against her daddy years ago. She looks just like him!! (starts counting on fingers) Oh 27 years ago actually, that makes me very old indeed :eek:
 
How long? I'm sure the big saddlery near me had a pony one but not sure what size it was. I'm sure I will need to get something from there this week so can have a look if you want me to.

Thanks, Little Nell :) She does look like him, doesn't she? He was 34 or 35 when she was conceived by AI so a successful pony to the end! I also competed against him many moons ago and he was a super pony. Let's hope she has a fragment of his ability, but if not she is still a delight and junior son will enjoy her.
 
I'm sure she will be a wee star Measles. Does she have a "clockwork tail" like timmy had?? Always looked like he was winding himself up :D
 
There is a trade stand @ scope festival that always has many pessoa saddles - not sure what they are called but they are always in the main hall.
 
I've got a 16" Junior Pessoa that we no longer need (onto horses now!). I think it is a medium but will have to check - it is with a friend at the moment for use on a pony that she has now sold! Whereabouts are you based?
 
I'd be amazed if anything bigger than a 15" worked for her, especially in a jump saddle where they often sit fractionally further back. If you ever see one used a Native Pony M&M GP would probably work well, if you absolutely have to have a jump saddle then the old Comfort Pro Pony jump is on the same tree but not that many were sold so I can't imagine you'd find one used.

You will neeed a really flat tree for her - the photo of the Pessoa looks too curvy to me tbh. If you can't find used I could advise on the new front. Good luck!

I have a 16inch prestige jump joy saddle i need to sell ?? will 16 not be too big though??

It is also changable gullett?? x
 
I know they are synthetic and not pessoas but the Tekna jump saddle feels like a pessoa to ride in (as I used to have a P and now have the T)

not sure if thats worth looking into - much cheaper and still looks like a leather saddle.
 
I had a good search today but the shop near me doesnt have it ant more, sorry, good luck with the search.
