Hi all,
I pointless post - but I am trying to beat the a little temporary bout of sadness.
I sold my horse last year as my partner and I were trying for a baby. Now I am pregnant and rife with morning sickness I seem to be feeling very much like a bored and moody broodmare!
This is the first time in 8 years that I haven't had a horse and I am going a bit mental.
I know after baby is born there is no way I can afford to own or probably even share; having 2 kids in full time childcare is basically is going to cost all my monthly wage and we are going have to live from my partners earnings. Thats mental isn't it?!
Anyway, I am trying to keep positive and think out of the box. I had a bad dose of the baby blues after my last baby so I want to give myself something to look forward to but I need to keep the costs down...
So here is the plan:
(I am military BTW)
Spend a week with the Light Cavalry HAC

Any military personnel can write to request to stay with them at their stables it Guards Polo Club and exercise the horses in London Great Park - yes please!
One-maybe two weeks volunteering at HorseBack UK (who provide therapy to injured servicemen and vets through horsemanship and country skills) in Aberdeenshire.
I can camp out if I need to, to keep the costs down (I dont want to cost them money!) and just help out tacking up, tack cleaning, creosoting some fences etc. It would be nice to give something back to my service.

I go to Afghanistan at the end of next year. Not sure how I am feeling about that just now. Anyway. I digress.
And then - 8 days riding course at St Johns Wood, London with the Kings Troop RHA. I spent 2 weeks with the troop in 2008 and loved every second of it so I would love to go back (as a higher rank!)
Horses and the military are my two favorite things - putting them together is freeking awesomeness!!!!
(I have permission to post)
Sorry again for this pointless post but it has cheered me up and distracted me for a good half an hour!
Tea and medals for all who got to the end
