The post I never thought I'd have to make...

your horsey is lovely.

Is there no way you could not rent a field and just have her turned out 24/7. My OH moaned about the cost of my horses as they were on livery, so i moved them to a field and it cost £70 a month for the both of them!!!

He cant moan anymore, and i've not been needing to feed anything either so its just that an feet that have needed doing.
You could always not buy shoes too, just have trims instead to cut back on money for a bit?!!?

Or the other option is loan/share.

she was what we were looking for and i would have thought about £4000.horses like her are in short supply and like golddust though so make sure its the right thing to do first,

Sorry to hear this

I'd say £3500 for your lovely horse.

I would definitely look at loaning her. I understand what you say about not wanting a broken horse returned to you but I'm sure you could find somewhere that would be happy for you to visit regularly or to be kept at your present yard.
On a purely selfish note, I need you to guide me round foremark in the spring so, if you can possibly hang on to her, then do.
Hugs, and I hope you find a suitable solution.

Aww cant believe you have said it, brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it

You cant sell her, me & Belle will be heart broken, surely there is another way, i know where you are coming from & know it sometimes sounds like the only option but it isn't, trust me i know, you will never ever ever find another Daisy like i will never ever ever find another Belle

Remember money isn't everyhing, i would much rather be skint every month spending my last penny on Belle (which you i do) even though OH finds no sense in it, than have money to waste & not enjoy it.

Yes we all get months sometimes when things are tight, that is just a way of life, but we just get on with it. We are so lucky to have what we have, but we work so hard to have wot we have, so why shudn't we be allowed to be selfish sometimes.

Im sure things will work out & it wont really come to this, you know where we are if you ever need us. Big hugs Me & Belle xx

Yes - i agree with Auntie - i need showing round foremark too!!

On a serious note - do you owe lots of money or do you just owe "christmas" money - its always tough in Jan with all the bills, christmas and the most expensive time of the year to keep horses. Only another 8 weeks and spring will be here - and then your feed bills will halve. Just work out what you spend in Jan and then you can start saving toward next winter. Ask for "emergency funds" for any prezzies you may get - owning such a wonderful horse is a prezzie everyday - just change your outlook to a positive one. Have the attitude "she aint going nowhere FACT" we will just have to work on cutting other things out.... unless you are facing a really difficult time - and in that case i apologise if i have caused any offence.

DON'T SELL HER!!!

She is really fab, you've achieved soooo much together, and you have so much more to enjoy together.

Money worries are a nightmare, but I'm sure there's something you can do as a stop-gap...can you turn her away to live out somewhere to save some money? Find cheaper livery? Don't give up on the idea of a sharer, hunt around and use word of mouth. There's no going back if you sell her

And we want to come round foremark with you again too!

TBH I am having trouble selling a boombproof hunter (very much sounds like your mare) who is really genuine and she is only advertised at £2500 I personally want to drop this mares price to £2000 because I just feel horses are not selling!! Quality ones are, but average horses like mine are just not going!!
I would try an keep hold of her for as long as poss!! Things are tight for alot of us, good luck she does look like a nice mare. Chin up

oh hun huge hugs!!!

I think from the fact that OP says she doesn't want to sell if she is not worth much also rules out loaning her

AS for price it depends on how fast you want/need to sell her I would say if fast £3000 if not in a mega hurry start at £4500

Also I know it does seem a little drastic BUT DO LOOK at your relationship and make sure he really is worth it!! i.e what would you do if he left tomorrow??? I say this from experience I thought I had someone that was worth it, then suddenly realized he wasn't and my god am I glad I kept my horse!!! (even tho only 3 yrs later I have had 3 different horses!!!)
I would also confide in a none horsey friend to see if they think so too!! AS long as you are sure then you may have to sell. AGAIN HUGE HUGS!!
