The price of dressage horses!

The price of jumping ponies is just plain ridiculous and is why we have started breeding ponies for our younger child out of our 138cms JA mare (who was not cheap!). It's simply not possible for a "normal" family to pay the prices ponies go for - I mean, a 138/148 JA that's been very good in its day but is now in mid-late 20's still seems to go for 6-8K!

My OH goes to junior BSJA, sniffs the air and claims to be inhaling money! If only it was that simple...
 
They're all worth the same hanging on a hook!! Does that sound heartless?

Anyway I'm beginning to despair, I thought my budget was pretty hefty but think I'm in for a long search!
