The price of your hay?

At the moment its £3.50 where I am, not sure if it will change later though.

Interestingly, I was going through some paperwork a little while ago and found some old bills from around 1990 and hay then was £2.50 to £3.25 a standard bale although it was very good quality, so all my gripes about the price of it at the moment soon went

I dread to think what the cost will be this winter.I paid £12 for a round bale of haylage last year that was delivered too. That is very cheap but it will go up this year i expect.

I have the choice of £1.80 a bale for ex seed hay - mainly stalk and a bit damp feeling or really yummy looking hay, nicely dry, green looking with loads of leaf for £3 a bale. Both are collected but I think that if I want the £3 a bale in winter and I order some food they will bring the hay along at no extra cost.

We got some hay which is a few years old and not great quality for £15 for 30 bales, and some of this years hay for £2 per bale. Some people are charging £4 per bale though.

Am paying £3.00 per bale - farmer charged £2.25 last year, but they are big bales. Noticed that someone who charged £2.00 per bale last year was advertising hay at £4.00 per bale, however this week the price has gone back down to £2.00 so obviously they had no takers.

I managed to get some really nice last years hay for £3 per bale and this years at £1.80 per bale collected. So more than happy as I like to feed year old hay for my native fatty!
