The results are in!

So vet has called and Chantins blood test results are in. Not that good news though which is the depressing thing.

She is slightly intolerant to Wheat. Not barley as I expected. Vet was surprised that if it is the wheat that has caused the reaction, that it has caused a bad reaction as it has. She has no allergy to barley, oat, mites, dusts, grasses, trees, insects etc.

Shes been off her feed for a week now and the lumps have gone down which does make think it was the feed that was causing the lumps. So back to the drawing board for feed etc.

Thanks guys for all your positive vibes, help and info over the past few weeks. Just thought d let you know the update.

At least its showed something up though so you can sort it now, i know its going to be annoying trying to find stuff to feed her but at least she will be back to normal again

Try Simple syatem feeds (or something like that) my friend uses it on hers for similar problem

yes well thats what im hoping. Im going to the feed merchant tomorrow morning to get some new feed for her and take her old feed back.

ill have to see if they sell them - if not was going to try her on soaked oats

I've got two mares which are allergic to barley, oats and rye.

Other than the rye it was actually not that difficult to find feeds which were suitable for them so don't worry too much

I'm pleased they have found out what was causing the bumps, hope she improves now
