It's a safety device to help you stay on/ fall off more gracefully, it's essentially a neckstrap but it allows you to carry your hands like usual xx
It's a gadget that attaches to the saddle and you hold it in your hand, it's supposed to help you stay on/balance, the last thread about this, most people prefered a neck strap
I love mine. Pony bucks & with a neck strap my hands are fixed so its tricky to pull his head up. The R-stor gives me the chance to lift my hands up to get his head up. In fact like it so much I may get a second for the other saddle so I don't have to keep swapping it round.
I wouldn't be without mine, helps you stay in the saddle through major spooks and bucks. Feels a bit odd at first to hold but you quickly get used to it. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a tricky horse to ride or just someone wanting something to help their confidence in the saddle. Worth every penny!
I love mine. I have thankfully never needed to put it to test, but I will certainly be using it when I back my filly. Saves pulling on their mouth if they unseat you.
I have one and it makes me feel safer (use it for hacking but not schooling generally as I find everything gets a bit busy). The only time I've needed it was when my mare lost it recently as I remounted on a hack (saddle slipped -I'm an idiot!) unfortunately it all happened too quickly for me to even consider using it.
Love mine. Have used it on three horses now. Its always on my GP saddle but usually only hold it when 1) going XC, 2) its very windy / wild weather 3) new unknown horse.
My only worry is that the once when it didnt stop me falling off it just stopped me falling clear of the horse - I ended up standing just by horse's shoulder, which could have been risky I suppose.
I dont know I have it in my hand and would reccomend it.
Forgot to hold onto mine the two times I needed mine. Both slow motion falls off my 16.3 so had plenty of time to look at it on the way past and think 'b****r, should have been holding that !' However it did make me feel safer until someone borrowed it then lied about having it !
