The Rubbish Winter Weather 2024/2025 Thread

It’s very windy here tonight - at least it’s drying the ground up again! Horses are all tucked up in but have managed all day out which was a surprise as the wind actually dropped here in the day and didn’t pick up until about 4pm. Hoping the rest of the week will be better as it looks to be warming up and no rain is forecast

Still blowing like crazy here it's very worrying and scary .Next door neighbour has lost more sheets off a large shed this afternoon !!which just missed her little Shetland ponies as they flew across the field.
I do hope this isn't the pattern of weather for the rest of the winter!

Same, this gale has been at least as fierce as last two named storms, some gusts considerably worse, although less precipitation - so what actually qualifies a weather event as name-able?
Is it more to do with population density in the likely most affected areas?
Fish’s famous hurricane - same wind speeds were not unknown in more remote parts of GB, but completely unremarked.
