The saddle company fitter

My saddle fitter is also a chiropractor. Never again would I go down the route of a 'saddle fitter' They don't see the fall out of the saddles they fit, its all money to them. Fit a saddle to the horses shape and cause a bit more muscle wastage till the saddles get narrower and narrower.

Fit a properly fitting tree - most saddle fitters are 12 and a half years old and have no experience and don't even know what the tree looks on that saddle looks like - fit it too wide and allow the damage to come up by using fibergee, and there is no issue after the horse has been treated.

I personally cannot recommend Barry Swain saddles enough - fitted by someone who has experience of these saddles.

I would never ever put another saddle on my horse - I have seen the damage that the Ideal saddles, Black Country, etc. have done - both on my own and on others on my yard. But just my experience!!

Basically wintec (one saddle fits all) with a bigger £#tag and just as uncomfortable - a horse I exercise for the owner has one and I hate it

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with Sam.

I have used her twice and just to balance out I didn't have any issues at all. I bought the SC saddle online second hand. I asked her to come and see if it would fit. She looked at it on him, used a bendy ruler thing (no idea what it's called to get the shape of his back) did some work on it, then put it back on him, watched me ride in it W/T/C, then adjusted it more, and then watched me again. A similar story when she came and checked it at a later date.

Not that it is any excuse but maybe she was having a really bad day?? <clutching straws> As i said, I've used her twice with no problems at all. I was recommended her by a friend who had had no ends worth of trouble with a certain well known local master saddler and cost her a fortune. She then swapped both her horses to SC and used sam to fit them without any of the previous problems she had had.
