The sarcoid saga continues...

The smallest one has dried up considerably but it keeps bleeding now and at night the shavings get stuck to it I have put purple spray on to stop dirt and dust getting in them from the field but has any one else experienced sarcoids bleeding? Her owner is going to get some sarc- ex cream today so that might dry them up more...

I've had the same problem with my ex-racehorse. He developed a small sarcoid on the off side of his neck, right where the neck-strap of his martingale sits - which constantly knocks the scab off the sarcoid and it keeps bleeding. Like you I tried purple spray, wound powder etc, to try and dry it up because the flies were having a field day. Eventually had to get the vet out because every time scab came off it was getting more and more inflammed and I was worried about further infections. My vet was initially going to laser it off but changed his mind at the last minute fearing it would lead to a massive scar. We are no trying a new herbal ointment from the USA. After using for 1 week the sarcoid has finally scabbed over but looks very angry and with puss underneath. Using bit of bute to take the edge off any discomfort. Vet is coming out end of next week to check on progress.
